What shall we do with our Foreign Workers?

Back in Term 4, I had a plan on hoiw to lighten the load off our foreign workers.

About 50% of that plan was enacted, with 6 Babylonian and 4 Roman slaves Repatriated.

Now, I'm thinking on what to do with the rest.

The four options, per group, are keep, integrate, reaptriate, or a combination.

I do not want to keep Foreign Workers. They don't seem to be affected by the bonuses for Democracy.

We have 1 Zulu, 5 Iroquois, and 8 Roman Workers still. Our cities are a mix of these fine cultures, so integration can work in any case.

I'm thinking we should reaptrate the Zulu worker and Integrate our remaining Roman workers. The Iros... I'm open to both sides. (Perhaps we can repair our relations with Hiawatha... It worked for Hammer...)

Primarily integrate Romans in the North, to balance out the strong French influence.

I agree that we should send the Zulu worker back to his homeland. I also think we should give the Iroqouis their workers back as well. As SD3 pointed out, it worked quite well for Babylon--not to mention it's the right thing to do. Sadly, I don't think we can do the same for the Romans. Rome as a nation is all but dead. Their lands became our lands long ago. Thus, we should integrate the Roman workers into our cities, and let them become full-fledged citizens rather than the slaves they are today.

Slave workers are affected by the bonus in Democracy. I say keep the workers - why would you want to get rid of things that help our nation? They also have no upkeep... I don't see why people want to get rid of them!

I just thought of a nasty option...

Transfering them.

i.e. Give the Zulu Salve to Rome and possibly 4 Roman Slaves to Shaka.

How would that affect reputations?

Because we are trying to play a game from a real world perspective, rather than exploiting the benefits of Civ3.

I am curious why our President wants to pervert the slave ownership process further by shipping these hapless workers to the wrong country. Haven't they suffered enough? Send then home.

I think it is high time to poll this now, and get rid of these parasite foreigners living on the dole and standing and sweating on their shovel after their 4 hour work. They are like the Somalians of Japanatica.
