Alright folks, this is it. Let's hear your very favorite Simpsons episode of all time. You can only pick one, though!

After much soul-searching, I've decided that my favorite episode is "Cape Feare," the third episode with Sideshow Bob. This is the one where Bart recieves threatening letters written in blood, and the family becomes "The Thompsons" in order to escape Bob. Everything about this episode is hilarious: the notes written in blood ("Use a pen, Sideshow Bob!"), the parole hearing ("No one who speaks German can be an evil man!"), Homer being coached by the Witness Protection program ("I think he's talking to you!"), Bob's encounter with the rakes ("Mmmmmppphhmmhh..."), Homer's attempts to reassure Bart ("Wanna see my new chainsaw and hockey mask?!?!") and the big musical finale ("He remains an E-E-E-E-Eng-lish-man!!!!").

damn, too many simpsons episodes to remember, i'd have to go through an episode list

There is no season that compares to Season 8. The Simpsons were at the top of their game.

You Only Move Twice
Globex Corporation wants Smithers as their newest employee, but when he repeatedly says no, they offer the job to Homer. He agrees, but he has to move to another city, Cypress Creek, a planned community. The family agrees to move and they simply abandon their old house. Homer's job is wonderful and he hopes it will help him to realize his lifelong dream, owning the Dallas Cowboys. Homer's new boss, Hank Scorpio, is about the greatest guy on the planet. Their new house is a palace, but Marge gets bored there and she starts drinking. Bart finds himself in the remedial program at school with a kid who lights fires. Lisa finds out she is allergic to everything. Soon it is revealed what Hank Scorpio and the Globex Corporation are really up to. They are terrorists, but Homer is too stupid to figure it out. His family wants to move back to Springfield. He tells Hank Scorpio about his lifelong plans, quits the job and family leaves to return to Springfield. When Homer returns home, he finds that Hank Scorpio has bought him the Denver Broncos as a thank you gift. Because of some of Homer's efforts, the Globex Corporation has managed to take over the entire northeastern seaboard of the United States.

By far the best episode is when Homer decides to teach a class at the local adult education annex. Although the monorail episode is very good too.

Quote:
Homer: Ummm, a marriage is a lot like an....orange, first you must peel away the outside layer to get to the sweet, sweet innards.

Student: If I wanted to learn how to eat an orange I would have taken the orange eating class.

Scene switches to Hans Molemen teaching a class

Hans: Eating an orange is a lot like a good marriage....
Patty: Just shut up and eat the damn orange!

Or even better is Moe's Class: Break-Dancing for self-defence.

The halloween special when Homer goes in to 3D Thats an episode, right? :)

"You Only Move Twice" was a close second for me. I love the song played during the closing credits.

Scorpio!
He'll sting you with his dreams of power and wealth!
Beware of Scorpio!
His twisted twin obsessions are his plot to rule the world
And his employee's health!
He'll welcome you into his lair
Like a nobleman welcomes his guest!
With free dental care and a stock plan that helps you invest!
But beware of his generous pensions
Plus three weeks paid vacation each year!
And on Fridays the lunchroom serves hot dogs and burgers and beer!
He loves German beer!!!!!

Here's a funny website dedicated to the Globex corporation.

Yup definitly the return of Side Show Bob in Cape Feare is the best one although I like them all. I lost my breath a couple of times laughing so hard.

'Homer to the Max' because he decides his name is too boring and decides to change it to Max Power. Now, Power is my fiance's surname and we decided that was a cool name for a kid (better than Austin!) So, when I was pregnant we were calling the baby Max!! Fortunately for her, she was a girl and got to be called Lucy instead!

sadly, i've always thought that the one with the twin towers was the funniest one ever made. i remember watching it because it was the season premier. i never stopped laughing for 30 minutes straight.

My favourite Simpsons' episode is;
• The Brother From Another Series

Special mention to the following;
• Homer the Vigilante (if only for the shotgun scene)
• Cape Feare (for the Gilbert & Sullivan)
• Deep Space Homer ("I said it before and I'll say it again. Democracy simply doesn't work")
• 22 Short Films About Springfield
• The Cartridge Family
• Behind the Laughter

I don't think I can pick just one. Maybe if I looked at an episode quide I could pick one from each season ... maybe not. Many of the episodes already mentioned were great.

Two words. Clown college.
