I would have liked to live in France in 1990s. I'm not sure if want to live under mitterand or Chirac. Mitterand was a socialist and as my name implies.... but the economy was generally better under Chirac.
Perhaps in India when the Moguls were at their prime...
Perhaps in Portugal when it was controlled by the Muslims. I would have liked to be a library clerk in one of the great libraries.
Or maybe in the United Arab Emirates in 1996, I don't now why but the name sounds good. not to mention cradle to grave governmental support

In the time of the 2nd industrial revolution (around 1900) would be interesting...many new things and inventions. In the future when man is colonizing Mars would also be very cool!
Or when the global apocalypse occurs (total nuclear war, a huge meteor, or huge floodings or so) It might not be much fun but really sensational!

How about the time the vikings roamed europe.
Always underway with your Vikingmates on a ship on the high seas drinking beer searching for some easy picking.
And then when you got bored or found some easy targets, put on your helmets and get your two handed sword or battle axe.
After landing in the neighberhood of that target village get out of the boat with all of your mates and start killing everything thats moving or have two arms and two legs. After looting everything and someother evil things go back to your boat and start drinking again. We'll and keep doing this until you die from old age or die from someones sword or other freaky weapon.

Its crap, smelly, boring and dumb. The only good thing about France is the skiing, hospitals and trains. But the problem is....
there are smelly stupid french people in there!
I agree vrylaklas about the French Resistance: What resistance? They relied heavily on Britain. The slavic resistance were superior, fighting on until AFTER the "end" of the second world war.
N.B The reason for poor resistance within France was to do with catastrophic losses in WWI. Petain saw his men die in masses and thought never again, its better to be alive and subservient than dead. The COWARDS!
