What are you doing? could you post it here so we could organize and work more efficently.

I'm working on my own because there is no leader and noones taking the job

I will give ideas, do xml, sdk, python. Whatever needs done I'll at least give it a try. I would also be willing to be the leader if no one else wants the job.

I have done nothing over than try to begin on it a year ago. I am can help out with art mainly. I know a little python, and beginning messing with the SDK.

The biggest standing issue is really the first leader of projects plan versus anything new to me. While the older may had some good ideas I really think there must be a first and foremost a simple mod plan.

My idea would be Civilizations are species in the game. And religions are just that religions. Jedi and Sith being each a religion, and then various other magics/religions for example Ewok shamanism.

Corporations can be in now as well to serve to arm some of the various factions. I really would like to see the shift from a Republic to the Empire being a civic change. And perhaps using something like the Revolution mod for uprisings.

I mean to step back and look at the Star Wars galaxy over the entire period versus the events in the movies. I mean in the overall timeline the events in the movies are small. I do not think I will get a lot of people agreeing with me. But I was thinking of just replacing the idea of Earth in Civilization 4 with the Star Wars galaxy instead.

Saying that land battles I think serve no purpose on a 9 space spot of land versus using them to siege a solar system from FF. If there was some way of having a popup come up for some more details of what happens in a battle that would be nice, but probably impossible.

So saying that I purpose this....

For a dll the mod uses RevDCM so Revolution is in, DCM is in, Super Spies version of some sort is in, Inquistion units is in (can act more like Jedi or Sith removing followers of what they oppose), and Influence Drive War.

I would think Kael's assimilation would help a lot as well. So when you capture say in this case anther's civilization's solar system you could create a civilization's (species) unit.

I am familiar with the SDK somewhat, but just beginning to learn C++. I made my own merge with of the dll with WoC Lite. So anyway I do have some experience.

Well anyway my thoughts.

If I have to I'll be leader, but for now I'm just going to see if we can get this together. :goodjob:

I think one thing we should do is assign someone or a team of someone's to go through all the old posts and look for ideas, and files that would be useful to us. Then we can start building from that.

I also like your theory jonny smith but I think we should have a few multi species civs and I don't think we should give each species its own civ. If we did that we would have way to many civs, and on top of that some of the species weren't that influential any ways.

I think that civs should be the galactic civilizations like:
The Republic
Empire
The Alliance to restore the republic(rebellion)
New Republic
The Yuuzhan Vong
The Sith
Seperatists
Mercenarys/ Bounty hunters/smugglers(barbarians)

and religions be
The force
The Dark Side
The Light side
The religion of the Yuuzhan Vong
Paganism/No religion

I agree on corporations

I think land should be a 23 plot square with the city in the middle opening up to the ocean/space
Like this with 0 = land, X = city
00000
00000
00X
00000
00000

I must disagree with you four civs isn't enough. We need more than four and on top of that you really can't group the Empire and the old Republic together. You also can't group the Sith and the Seps together.

Well I think 4 is too few as well. I think any species should be able to come on control not just the Jedi, Sith, or Yuuzhan Vong. And the alliance is just rebels really that later win in an uprising.

Just think these are one civ.
The Republic/Empire
The Alliance to restore the republic(rebellion)/New Republic
And the Seperatists are just more rebels against the republic.

The Sith Empire is something different but I am not thinking about the later Jedi rebels. I am thinking in terms of the old Sith species that is dead later.

The Yuuzhan Vong came from another galaxy. So really think they should be a late game only starting civilization. Just like if aliens invaded Earth.

I do not mean every civ must be only one species, but I am trying to explain the basic idea I thought. But I would not start mixing species together that would make no sense to put together.

I think civilizations are not hard to add. If they were not really influential then they should be severly handicapped. Like playing Native Americans in Colonization.

More of barbarian civs really, but based on galaxy map I think is more important. I mean if there is a big empty spot of space I think something should fill the empty space. If there is too many civs in one area then probably should combine some.

With the whole mod though I think the beginning of hyperspace should be the point of where civilizations are looked at. Not later in game. And theses civilzations can do something completely different then in the films or games Although there should be events that push the mod to go more inline with the actual history.

we should stay with the time but we shouldn't have it focused on any time period more like all of them and 1 time period we want to focus on could be put into scenarios.

Please repeat in English.

Maybe I am typing that bad:lol: That is an usual thing for me. Always in a hurry.

I am meaning if the mod starts at the time of Hyperspace just beginning then the civs should be more from that time I think. Then later have events that occur like the various Jedi schisms have an effect on the civilizations. For example the first Jedi going to Korriban. After this event the Sith civilization would be changed.

I would think scenarios for events in the film or games would be better because it is a small time frame.

Minor not so influential species could be barbarians or minor civs. I don't know if that is clear enough.

We're using Galactic governments or organizations like the sith for civilizations

Could you help by making the animation for the death star

Then could you just make units that use animations already ingame because we are seriously short on units
or you could make buildings which just need a nif file not a kfm
