Why can't you play civ 4 games on BtS??

Can't play Civ4 games if you have beyond the sword installed?! why is that!?

Do I put in the Civ4 cd to play the civ4 game? I was almost winning!! And stupid me I installed BtS and now can't finish my game!

Please help!

You should be able to. The civ4.exe should still be in the original folder.

it's there, but when I try to launch it I get an error. Like it has no idea what to do with it because I have BtS installed.

You can't play your old games on the BtS engine, but there's no reason you shouldn't be able to go back with the original Civ4 CD... I did this just a few days ago.

I don't think BtS screws with the original files at all? It's probably an unreleated problem.

In case this happens to someone else I thought I'd add this part.

I just talked to 2K and they said that each game is independent of each other. Meaning, if I want to play a civ 4 game I have to use that CD, if I want to play a BtS game, I have to put THAT cd in...same with warlords.

What a mess... Thank goodness I don't have to do that with the Sims 2. (that was my obsession...still kind of is...so I assumed, wrongly, that this expansion worked that way too. You put in the latest cd to play your games.)

SOO I guess to find out what's new in each thing I have to play the games individually... bleh...

Or.. you could just play the newest one which will tell you what changes have occured overall (but not which version they were added)
