Hi, was wondering if anyone could help me. My brother just sold his tower, which i used to play CIV4. I recently bought a macbook however, and was wondering if anyone could help me with the spec. On the surface my machine matches the spec but i dont want to take the risk of buying it and then it being agonisingly slow in the late game. I'm worried about the card mainly.

Also, is the mac version identicial to the PC version?

My machine:

OS X 10.5.6
Processor: 2GHZ INTEL CORE DUO
MEMORY: 1 GB 667 MHZ DDR2 SDRAM

CARD:ntel GMA X3100:

Chipset Model: GMA X3100
Type: Display
Bus: Built-In
VRAM (Total): 144 MB
Vendor: Intel (0x8086)
Device ID: 0x2a02
Revision ID: 0x0003
Displays:
Color LCD:
Resolution: 1280 x 800
Depth: 32-bit Color
Core Image: Hardware Accelerated
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Quartz Extreme: Supported
Built-In: Yes

any help much appreciated

Sorry, no. Your MacBook's integrated graphics chip (GMA X3100) is too weak.
Sorry, but no, you're wrong.
I have a Macbook with the exact same graphics chip, and i can run Civ4+BTS fine.
Things to note, i don't use any improved graphic-mod (only BUG) and i play mainly on small maps. On larger maps, the turns at the modern era would take ages.

The OPs machine should be able to run Civ4, however i would advise upgrading the RAM. (I have 4GB) If you don't buy it directly from apple it should be rather cheap.
