Windowed Mode

Hey i was just wondering if it's possible to but Civ 3 into windowed Mode?

i know there's a better keystrokw for it, but i just hit the windows key and go from there

Windows key+D will bring you to the desktop.
Alt+Tab will switch between programs.

If you add these lines to the right ini file Civ will appear in a kind of window, I guess:

KeepRes=1
Video Mode=[put a resolution smaller than the width of your desktop resolution here]

I don't remember whether it's VideoMode or Video Mode or KeepRes or Keep Res

cierdan has all of the info you'll need; it is VideoMode and KeepRes without spaces. A list of the .ini file changes can be found here.

There is no way to have it be like a windows program like Internet Explorer, though, with a "Minimize, Maximize, and Exit" button row in the top right, and have it be resizeable, etc, etc.
