Is anyone planning on getting this game or have you pre-ordered and started playing yet? This has to be the best representation of what fighting World War 1 must have been like in a game I've ever seen.

Curious what you have to say.

I haven't, but might gander to say that, "the best representation of what fighting World War 1 must have been like in a game," might not be at all enjoyable as A GAME. But, I admit, I say this having not tried it, so take it with that in mind.

You bring up a good point but if you put your historical hat on and immerse yourself in the way war was waged on that front at that time it is an enjoyable experience in it's own. This might be a niche game the more I think about it.

Nah, the core loop isn't that different from your standard RTS, but they've modelled the basic play on the zerg rush meta and then sat back to let the moral horror of it creep up on you subconsciously. As I remarked to a friend, it's about time the strategy types got our own Spec Ops: The Line:

That half-smile on that officer avatar character's face is creepy enough in ti's rendering to give nightmares in and of itself.
