Hello everyone! I'm new to these fourms and for some reason the site showed sticky threads before I registered but not anymore so bear with meh

On to my problem...
----------------------

I owned a copy of Civ 4 Warlords and I decided to create my own civlization but when I created it, I didn't make it in a mod folder instead I edit the in-game XML and it worked! Now I brought BtS yesterday and I tried to do the same thing but my faction isn't showing up... why? (I copied and paste everything from warlords XML that I changed)

I guess all I need to know is what's new for creating a civilization?

and once again the sticky threads aren't showing on my computer so don't yell at me.

BtS changes alot of things, adds new tags and what not in many of the XML files. So porting over a mod from Warlords to BtS is a little more complicated in many cases then just copying the files. Also you need to remember to move the art files to the BtS directory as well (Use custom assets art directory, not the default art directory!).

You really shouldn't edit the core files. Copy those files to the Custom Assets folder, and then edit the copies in custom assets (your game will boot up out of the custom assets versions--but you have the defualt files still there in case you make a mistake/want to play multiplayer). You're just asking for trouble if you edit the core files.

It's all pretty intuitive. Since you've modded the file before in Warlords, you'll have no problem doing it in BtS. The thing is though for many of the xml files, they aren't directly compatible, you have to re mod them. Some are though, but it sounds like this one wasn't.
