So I was playing a China Dom game the other day, and during one of my conquests, I plopped a Citadel 2 tiles away from one of their weaker cities. I was working on infrastructure and not attacking, but I put my CKN in the citadel and attacked the city twice each turn. This leveled them up pretty quickly, and I soon had 5 CKNs with range, march, and barrage/accuracy lvl 3.

For the sheer hell of it, I never took the city and just kept attacking with the CKNs to see how powerful I could make them. In the end, I had a lvl15 CKN with accuracy and barrage lvl 3, march, logistics (for the hell of it lol) and range, along with whatever else. I also had Himeji Castle and Morale, and some other policy buffers. The guy was INSANE.

What are the most powerful units you have created?

the most powerful unit i ever had was...
wait, lemme go back a little. so i was playing this multiplayer game with 5 other ppl, one of them was china. he rushed ckn and soon enough bullied his neighbour who had to quit a couple of turns later. he basically did the same thing as you, used the AI to level up at least 5 or 6 ckn to ridiculous levels. fortunately that allowed everyone else (including me) to stay on a tech level slightly above him.
so when i hit xcoms before china, he had to surround his cities with his ridiculously upgraded chu ko nus who were machine guns at that time, so i dont just take the cities easily with my ridiculously overpowered, cheap and stupid xcoms.
so i just bought one nuke and sent them all to oblivion. :nuke:
so my strongest unit ever was an unupgraded xcom due to its ******** synergy with nukes.

Well I'd have to say nuclear missiles are my strongest unit, but the highest level unit I've ever had was a frigate that I later upgraded to a destroyer (level 15). I waste all my land units in bonsai charges too often for them to get higher than level 5.

I had 4 archers in a Zulu game that I farmed my closest neighbor with until they had range and logistics. Took left honor at some point and that combined with the Zulu UA gave me 4 machine guns at the end that had every possibly promotion for a range unit.

Battleships with range, sight and logistics is nice. Even more so with the Great Lighthouse and playing as England. And army of rifleman upgraded from minuteman with march is also pretty nice. Move through everything and that extra sight bonus is worth a lot when you march through the enemies never before seen territory.

Good question. As above I've often had some heavily promoted battleships that have been around since they were galleases, and some crazily powerful stealth bombers, but I couldn't quote exact numbers.

My most powerful units tend to be battleships with just 2-3 promotions left and those is the land bombardment promos. xD

But.. I once had a warrior with march promo. Yeah, its really rare for a warrior to stay alive that long and be in so many battles.

 Totally OT, but I have seen so many similar punny situations.
FYI, it's BANZAI charges and bonsai TREES.

I haven't gotten Ranged units up to as high levels as some of you guys have (only Level 12 or so), but I had a crazy Panzer in my last game. Since I had Autocracy, Alhambra, Heroic Epic, Brandenburg, and all the XP buildings, it *started* with Drill 3, March, 33% when wounded, 7 moves, ignored ZOC (Lightning Warfare), and 104 base strength (Morale + Lightning Warfare). Ultimately, it also got Blitz, Shock 2, and 33% against wounded. I was taking cities without a single ranged unit. Ignoring ZOC and an extra move was awesome because I could pull out damaged Panzers really easily.

Autocorrect doesn't like the word bonzai :cringe:

I remember playing France back in Vanilla. Had Heroic Epic, Barracks, Armory, and Discipline and built a bunch of Musketeers to wage pretty much non-stop war.

4 survived all to the end and were filled even with both cover promotions.

Plus this was with Musketeers so the extra combat strength basically made them unstoppable for quite a while.
