RandNES 1: Dawn of a World

I think it only shrinks images. Otherwise, it would be great.

I believe that you have to upscale the porportion of pixels manually, but it may not be high quality. If you do use it, try the 3000 pixel range to begin with.

Oh, by the way, is there going to be another partial update before the next full one? I know you said that we could post our orders, but i think most of us are waiting for update 5.66666667 before we do that.

Edit: well, the next post answers that question.

Spoiler :
Name/Player: Ecrea/awesome
-Starting Location and Color (show on map): can't do any map stuff because I'm posting from my phone because my laptop hates me, but I'd like to be on that weird island between Tusdar and Sefa
-Government: Despotism (you will have more options later)
-Unique Power: The Power of Sabotage: better spies or more espionage points, whichever you decide is better/more balanced. I'll explain why i have this power in the description, below, obviously.
-Cities: Name your capital and other city and put them on the map in the format here:

-Name: Laniver, located in the southwestern corner of the island i mentioned above
-Size: 1 (no extra EPs)
-EP produced per turn: 10 (5 + 5 from Palace)
-Maintenance: 0
-Unique Features: Palace (+5 EP per turn)

-Name: Iznaver, located on the northeastern corner of that same island
-Size: 1 (no extra EPs)
-EP produced per turn: 4 (5 - 1 for maintenance)
-Maintenance: 1
-Unique Features: None
-EP per turn: 14
-Stored EP: 0
-EP Spending: This is where you'll list your EP spending. You don't need to put anything here right now.

-Army Size: 3
-Navy Size: 4, but we don't really have too many sea battles and our boats generally don't go too far into the water because they just haven't needed to. Most of our boats are used for fishing, but the occasional small scale naval battle is not unheard of (Ooc: obviously, i'll develop an actual navy once i'm contacted and realize that there is indeed a whole world out there beyond my island)
-Description: After many years of tribal warfare on the island, both intra-tribal and inter-tribal, a great chieftain, named Lani, has come forth and promised to unite the people! However, due to the small populations of the tribes on the island, warfare has been focused more on sabotage and guerilla warfare than on large scale battles, so we have become masters of this method.
Further, Chief Lani has founded a settlement in one of our most productive fishing spots, naturally naming it after himself ("ver" is a word that means "place" in our language, so this settlement is basically called "Lani's Place"). During a campaign, his son and greatest warrior, Izna, founded another settlement to celebrate his victory over a rival, naming this settlement after himself, as his father had done before. Within mere months, the island was therefore united under Chief Lani.

Ecrea orders:
14 EP total
-3 EP to develop our army: after our recent victory over our rivals, we have few enemies remaining, but there are still some pockets of resistance, so we will develop our military to further subjugate them.
-3 EP to develop our navy: there are still some battles around the coasts of our land, so we want to be ready for that. When we are not in battle, these boats can serve as fishing boats.
-3 EP towards the study of astronomy: we also turn some our attention toward the sky, studying the sun by day and the stars and moon by night. We soon begin using them for navigational purposes.
We're banking the rest of our EP (3 left over).
Because our people are beginning to settle down, they are beginning to specialize in certain crafts, allowing them to produce surpluses over and beyond what they need for themselves. These excess goods are being traded for others.
For example, one family might make fishing nets out of kelp and sticks, who then trades their nets with another family who uses these nets to actually catch the fish. Still, another family might make pottery out of clay, trading it to a family who gathers fruits.
We are taking advantage of this by forming the beginning of a professional military.

Will get orders in this weekend, glad to see this finally going.

Spoiler :

-EP produced per turn: 16 (7 + 5 from Palace +2 from Tower +2 from Port)

-Name: Liyaun

-EP produced per turn: 4 (5 - 1 for maintenance)
-Maintenance: 1
-Unique Features: None
-Location:
I'd like the city to be constructed to the south-west of Halturias at the center of the peninsula.
Otherwise, I'd like the city to be constructed north of Halturias, in the mountainside, near the mine and adjacent to the river if possible.

-EP per turn: 20
-Stored EP: 0
-EP Spending:

-Army Size: 6
-Navy Size: 2
-Description:

Hadun Spending:
- 3EP to constructing a few ships to defend the nearby waters (probably based off the Svealand designs, as they would often come into port I assume)
- 3EP to constructing more fishing vessels as now that there is a port it would be easier for fishermen to flourish
- 5EP to expanding the mines in the mountains (digging deeper or wider, searching for different metals or rocks)
- 7EP to begin construction of a large fort along the coast line overseeing the ocean trade route between the two cities (Halturias and Liyuan)
- 2EP to build basic walls around the new city of Liyuan to keep out wild animals and to deter raiders

Note: The 7EP on the fort depends on where the 2nd city ends up, if it ends up near the mountains, I'd like for the the EP of the mines and fort to be switched and the fort to only be a small-medium one that overlooks the port and nearby ocean

I don't know if the Bronze age people could make useful maps.

Well the thing is that development of human cultures cannot really be categorized clearly into Stone Age-copper age-iron age blah blah blah. For some peeps Iron Age came before copper age because there was no copper to be found in the local areas.

Aztecs even created an Empire for themselves with STONE weapons.

This from some time ago...
So lets see what happens .

True true, I'm not trying to say your wrong, just trying to confirm that fact.

Assault Tactics:
Spoiler :
Order the troops encircle the city, waiting on the hill where the jungle is(it is on the map, not making it up...), until night falls. Once night falls, the navy will start throwing axes and raising hell and being as loud as possible. When the navy has their attention, the warriors will attack from behind and aim for all the men while they are waking up. Once they are all dead or surrendered, proclaim the town ours. The warriors will have special orders to not harm the women or children or else they will be exiled and their sons drafted for life.

I'm so sorry to possibly put this NES on hiatus for a while, but a very popular IAAR by the name of America: Write your Own History has started to get very active with a communist v. capitalist struggle in America. I might make an NES starting in 1916 (the very controversial election of Woodrow Wilson, after which the communists attempted to assassinate him) or the very tense election of 1928, where the evil megalomaniac William Z. Foster from the communist party was elected. I will probably drop my current NES for the time being to start this one. Tell me if you're interested, and whether you'd have it start at:

1. Just before the 1916 election, which pitted Woodrow Wilson vs. Alfred Reimer and a few other candidates. There was even voter fraud (people created fake accounts to vote for the communists).
2. Just after the 1916 election, where communists threatened civil war and tried to assassinate Wilson.
3. Just before the 1928 election, which pitted the current president Stanley Bruce vs. William McKenzie King vs. communist William Z. Foster vs. democrat Al Hull.
4. just after the 1928 election, where the last-minute entry of Irish socialist Conolly tipped the balance in favor of the communists, and now capitalists are threatening civil war and assassinations on Foster.

I posted this in the ideas thread, but I'm also putting this here because I think you guys might find this new idea more interesting than the current NES. Post whether you'd like me to continue RandNES 1 or to start this new NES.
