[NFP] Civilization VI: Possible New Civilizations Thread

I'm a bit late to the party, but if we do get another "Final Frontier" pass, my preferences would be... Indigenous NA: Navajo (Narbona) Caribbean: Haiti (Jacques I) West European: Renaissance Italy (Lucrezia Borgia) East European: Romania (Vlad Tepes) North Africa: Berbers (Dihya "al-Kahina")...

[NFP] Civilization VI: Possible New Civilizations Thread

I think something that gets overlooked when talking about indigenous history is the extensive modernizations of the last century. While the vast majority of tribes are nowhere near as influential as they were in the pre-Columbian era, it should be noted they were still able to build extensive...

PORTUGAL CONFIRM! Now, the real question is: what's the UU, UI, UA, and leader? I'm guessing the UU will probably be another caravel stand-in, as it should be. UI and UA will likely be focused around trade routes again. Personally, I they should always be portrayed as a naval and commerce...

My point exactly. In Civ6, the "Celtic" representatives are Belgian Gauls (comeplete with La Brabançonne motif in the theme) and Germanic Scots. Instead, I'd rather have one true Celtic representative (Ireland), instead of zero. And Belgium can be its own thing and not some weird hybrid or...

On the issue of Celtic representation, I would have vastly preferred medieval Ireland and modern Belgium over blob Gauls and British Scotland. Oh well, maybe in Civ7...

If there ever is a Caribbean civ, I know it's a longshot but the Pirate Republic would be so cool. The UU is obvious, and there's a lot of interesting things that could be done with the UA. There's also no shortage of leaders to choose from. Not to mention Firaxis already has plenty of...

I personally think if the final civ is Portugal, Civ6 is a wrap and the next content we get will be from a new game. If it's not Portugal (perhaps an indigenous North American civ or Italian republic) then we can expect at least another DLC. Portugal is just too important to leave out, having...

I'm still not pleased the Australian civ was included without any aboriginal references except for a digeridoo in the ancient soundtrack. I get most tribes don't meet the criteria of a "civilization", but there's a much stronger case for inclusion of a millennia old culture with unique art and...

Any leads on Portugal, now that Vietnam (and Lady Trieu probably) are confirmed?

Ohhh, Mary/CdM would be the best contemporary leader drama since Cyrus/Tomyris... *grabs popcorn*

"Will Rogers leads Oklahoma in Sid Meier's Civilization VI. Their UB is the Casino, their UU is the Sooner, and their UA is 'TWISTER!!!' which causes extra damage from natural disasters." *shudders*

I'm not sure how the Netherlands theory got started but I would say they're one of the least likely to get a new leader. Then again, I do have a habit of being wrong. However, I think some of the "mightier" civs objectively make more sense to be next, such as: Mongolia/China (Kublai Khan)...

I hope we get more content after NFP, there's still so many worthy civs I would love to see represented: Belgium, Berbers, Caribbean, Cherokee, Ireland, Malagasy, Navajo, Philippines... but I guess that's what mods are for. :dunno:

Regarding the issue of representation, I'd really like it if going forward (Civ 7 and beyond) we got "core" civilizations in the base game, and New Frontier style bundles from then on. Expansions seem to have stagnated into "one civ per region" compromise. But by releasing optional themed...

The Caribbean is criminally underrepresented. I'd really love to see Cuba, Haiti, or Bahamian Pirate Republic as full fledged civs eventually but in the mean time I'll gladly take city states!
