I've never liked to automate anything in civ. (workers, govorners, ect). Then again I'm a micro-manage freak who likes total control over all my units. My opinion is that my decision making ability is a lot better than that of the AI. Sure it was somtimes a drag to give 50 workers orders...

while sad that they're gone it's also exciting to see some brand new civs. I can't wait to try em out!

the delivery date on my amazon pre-order next day delivery still says I'll have the game on the 25th. Still says it hasen't shipped yet though (as of 2pm pacific). Hmm... well we'll see. Any one who's pre-order from amazon had them acutally ship the darn thing yet?

I've had no probs with my account at amazon. I've pre-ordered with next day delivery and have changed both delivery and method of payment. Course, having done it 2 weeks ago may have something to do with it...

I'm not even worried about it. I'll be playing civ IV for a while. I'm sure they will come out with expansions, but till then i'm sure the "vannilla" version will be fine

Forum member Mercade contacted Firaxis about the DVD requirement of Civilization IV and received a reply from Kelley Gilmore, Marketing Manager at Firaxis: Civ IV will ship on 2 CD-ROMs to North American stores on October 25th and on a DVD to stores in Europe on November 4th. don't know...
