    A Few Q? From a novice

Love the HHGTG reference Alan!

Survey Time: Which Civ3 tools would you kill for, on which Mac OS?

Well, for TradeAssist, I think that Command-H could do the job ok - drop the Civ3 window down, check for trades, and press Resume. In this case one would be spending about the same amount of time checking the trades on one AI as checking for all (which is a large cut in time to do this anyway)...

Survey Time: Which Civ3 tools would you kill for, on which Mac OS?

A few things. I just got a new job, and now should have a little time on my hands to take a look at my old stuff and see what i can do about updating it. Additionally, I was reading the "Trade assist" forums and there is a new tool by our new GOTM leader that allows you to see what the AI...

    Mac GOTM Installers

Cool, I hadn't checked the packages, just read the little "Warning" in your first post. Very nice job with them though, it makes installing the GOTM a breeze on the mac.

    Mac GOTM Installers

Alan, Have you thought about attaching a pre-install script to the package so that the proper text files are automatically renamed (like diplomacy.txt.BeforeGOTM25). Packagemaker lets you include scripts such as these, and then the user wouldn't have to backup the text files manually. Just a...

Survey Time: Which Civ3 tools would you kill for, on which Mac OS?

Well I went through this thread... Very interesting.. I suppose I could go back to iEditCiv and update the BIC file editing to 1.29... I don't even know if there's a copy of it floating on these forums here anymore... If anyone wants a BIC decompressor utility (the compression is from zlib) I...

    no scientists and tax collectors

Tax collectors generate 1 gold per turn - press "F1" after creating a tax collector and you'll see what he does. You probably don't notice the effect of scientists because they only create 1 beaker and thus I don't find them particuarly useful unless i set my science rate to 0 and want 40 turn...

    'lo again

Well that was a refreshing 4 1/2 month nap... what's been happening here in the time i've been gone? I've finally updated Civ3 & tried that new GOTM . You guys still playing mac sucession games? Any new tools for editing Civ? Any requests for tools for editing civ? I'd like to get back in the...

1.29 Editing and Scenario BIC files

I think the most interesting thing that'd i'd like to be able to do is savegame editing. This could possibly then allow for some very nice mods / scenarios (with war declared, trades in effect, reputation destroyed, etc) that aren't possible with even the PC Editor. The idea, I think, is to...

    Frequently Asked Questions - (FAQ)

Just a quick question... Is the Civil Defense Supposed to require Aluminum? Because then it doesn't appear until Rocketry rather than at Radio, which is a requisite tech for rocketry anyway!

1.29 Editing and Scenario BIC files

Given my previous experience with BIC files and being very optimistic, after my last finals tommorow I'm going to start looking to expand iEditCiv into a full-featured rules editor for version 1.29, with the possibility of map editing, since the 1.29 editor is in limbo (as Brad said, he's...

    1.29 Semi-public beta

Fier, you might want to make sure the file has the correct Mac File type - just do a get info on it, and set it to open with application Civ3 (you'll need to search for the app). That should do it! Read the Forum FAQ for more information about the file types.

    1.29 Semi-public beta

Major Problems loading scenarios with cities already placed. It seems to work with just units, but once cities are on the map, it just locks up at "Configuring scenario" after taking forever to get about 5% done.

    Help. Captured Worker chrash

sounds like the worker capture FLC is damaged. Try reinstalling, thats your best bet. If you could, post an OS X crash log - you can get them in Home -> Library -> Logs -> CrashReporter. Good Luck!

Are you better at Civ3 than Civ2?

Yes, Napoleon is so much fun! I love playing the turks and the prussians. However, its really annoying that my civ always uses the Mesopotamian city style.

Are you better at Civ3 than Civ2?

I'm better at Civ2. Civ2 had much less to think about than Civ3. :-)

    1.29 Semi-public beta

Quick question then - This supports 1.29 BIC files? So theoretically I should be able to mod a BIC for starting locations, units, etc?

File Mirrored here. It should be up for at least until May 9, when I leave school for home. Thanks Brad, this is sweet!

    Can't run Civ3!

Never mind, seems you've already tried it. Could be that your Civ3 is bad, will the computer store do a exchange? Well you did say it worked on the other system... do you have anything running in the background (UNIX apps and stuff too, not just Aqua programs)?
