I don't know if it's because the AI doesn't feel threatened by the Axe because it has 0 strength and 0 movement, but I just played a game (patch i) where the AI left the Axe alone inside its territory... again.
If you're not going to change the AI, could someone at least update the...
I can play FfH just fine, but I tried to load Gods of Old and I didn't have an interface.
I had this problem once upon a time with FfH and I deleted the entire Civ IV directory and reinstalled everything from scratch (including FfH) and this took care of the problem in FfH.
I haven't...
If I cast a pair of Maelstroms followed by a pair of Tsunami, I'll get a different outcome than if I cast Tsunami followed by Maelstrom because each spell has a different max damage limit.
What are the specific damages done by each area effect spell and what are their damage limits? I can...

I don't know what code change made this happen, but Archipelago maps are just a little extra annoying because you can't access a resource by putting a Fort on the island to allow the resource into your trade network. This means you have to actually put a city on every podunk little island that...
Lots of strategy articles have been written about Culture wins and most advocate going for Free Speech, a decent defensive unit to hold off invasions and then letting your tech stagnate while you crank up the :culture: slider. Sid's Sushi seems like such an obvious benefit for Culture, though...
The various "Sacrifice unit to get something" and "If unit dies here, get something" buildings/wonders/effects don't seem to be linking up. This may be working as designed because it's too strong of a synergy, but I was very disappointed in this lack of synergy in my latest Calabim game.
I...
There's a new BtS patch out now, June 10, 2009. Don't know if it breaks FfH, but I'm not going to find out either since I don't want to break my FfH to find out. :)
Also, I remember Pillar of Chains and Governor's Manor giving +1 :hammers: for each  point that you have in total. 15...
I'm missing the Mana bar and the Score Table on my main interface screen for FfH. It occurs to me now that I haven't looked in regular-BtS to see whether the Score Table is there either, but
I've completely deleted the FfH folder and all the previous FfH folders and did a complete...
I'm very happy with the way that the Civilopedia has been updated and I love FfH. It's very frustrating for me, though, when I start to play a game, map out a broad strategy and then find out when I'm on turn 150 that my strategy won't work because the Civ I'm playing can't build whatever...
It seems to me that Ring of Fire is better than Maelstrom and Tsunami because it only extends the ring of damage 1 tile out from the caster. That means I can cast the spell and hit the units that I want to hit without hitting the units of neutral/allied Civs. Tsunami isn't as much of a problem...
Anyone know how rebel sentiment works with new colonists that come from food or with colonists who wander from city to city?
In particular, if I put a pair of Newspaper fed Elder Statesmen on a tiny island with 3 fish, I'll have 100% rebel sentiment and an enormous bonus to the fishermen's...
I teched to Deception, switchted to Undercouncil and CoE state religion, but I still can't build the Hero Gibbon as the Doviello. Keelyn is the only AI left and she's displaying Ashen Veil as State Religion, so I know she didn't build him.
Any thoughts?
I bought a copy of Colonization from ebay since I was willing to wait for it to show up at my door, but I won't have an opportunity to actually go out to buy it in the next week or so. I paid $13 + shipping and I got a box in the mail that is obviously Civ IV-Colonization, but everything except...
...because if you kill a unit that has Hidden Nationality (as they almost all do), then your Mimic will pick up Hidden Nationality. And it will stomp all over your neighbors.
Let's say you have 7 sources of mana - 3 from your capital and 4 from nodes. If you make nodes to match your capital, you get a free promotion of that magic type for all of your Adepts.
Go ahead and give at least one of them Metamagic I as a paid-for promotion because you were smart enough...
I like playing Sidar and I've gotten a few units with Spirit Guide through exploration. When I turn them into Shades and settle the Shade as a Great Person, I don't get an XP contribution in my other units.
How is Spirit Guide supposed to work, anyway? And how much of the XP does it grant...
Sort of.
The biggest plus for me on Divided Soul is that I can move across the map at 2 move per turn while still healing. Once I get my Hunters up to Combat IV or with Courage, it's a great advantage for dealing with Barbarians and animals.
I've just finished playing through a Classical...
This is pretty simple, but it just occured to me.
Take a look in the :commerce: window to see how many military units you have. Pacifism will cost that much gold per turn.
Take a look at your two fastest Great Person Point generating cities. How many Great Person Points are they...
If the Sidar build only scouts and warriors in the beginning of the game with an occasional worker thrown in for terrain upgrade (farms to support mines and mines to build scouts and warriors), the Sidar can hit 26 XP on a few units pretty quickly.
The initial scout and warrior should hit...
