Is there an easy way to remove all of the Player Start Positions that are generated when creating a map in Worldbuilder? It's a pain to have to search the map for them and delete one by one. It also doesn't help that the icon is tiny and hard to see.
I wrote a very simple mod a while back that would let me change a technology cost on the fly. I could edit the cost to any value in the mod before I started the game and it would change in the game. Now it doesn't. I tried playing with <LoadOrder> but that didn't do anything. Any ideas on what...
I want to change one of the default XML files (in this case Technologies.xml). I'm not sure how to configure the .modinfo file or where to put the new Technologies.xml file. I'm sure it's simple but I can't get it to work. Can someone help? I put the new Technologies.xml file in my mod root...
Maybe it's too early to ask but can anyone tell if you can do more with the orbital layer? It would be cool to build stations there and be able to move units around like in the original Call to Power.
I have an open trade unit slot but it says I'm at my maximum limit? I had two caravans and after one them completed it's maximum number of turns I deleted it so I could build a cargo ship. Save file is below image.
I just noticed that when I load a saved game in BNW and open the tech tree, the game remembers where I was and I don't have to scroll to the right every time! :D
Feel free to post other unexpected Brave New World finds and improvements here.
Just thought I would share this for those who don't know. Slitherine and Matrix are releasing a new game this June that is inspired by Alpha Centauri called Pandora: First Contact. It sounds promising and I hope it turns out great. Make sure to sign up for the beta. They will be adding more...
I've decided to create a custom map. I'm able to place the terrain and other items but whenever I try to place a landmark (like the Unity wreck or Garland Crater) it ends up flooding the entire map! I've tried everything but it happens every time. It happens if I edit the same map in SMAC or...
I was looking for a way to do this in Alpha Centauri and thought it might be interesting to try in Civ5. Does anyone know how you can limit the number of cities that each player can build? This was done by Jeckel for Civ4 and I remember some interesting games!
It seems that more often than not I start way too close to other players when playing on a custom map. I set the world map to be larger and 70-90% water so that there are several land masses for the other players to be on. Is there any way to make sure all of the factions are spread out better?
Maybe not quite a bug, but when I press 'End Turn' and the game tells me there's a unit with movement points left it really should center on that unit(s).
If I only enable the Spaceship Victory option (no other victory conditions and no max turns checked) do I still have to build the spaceship by 2050ad or can I still complete it and win (as long as I beat the other to it)?
Where do I change the amount of resource yields? I want to increase the value of uranium to more than 1. In other words, I want to have uranium support more than just 1 unit. I looked in the resources xml but didn't see it.
After installing the mod tools I decided to run Nexus. It asked me to choose a path for 'assets' and I accidentally clicked on the wrong directory. Now I get an error everytime I run Nexus. Is there a way to change the asset path?
I finally reached the end of my first Civ5 game in 2050ad. I lost (no surprise there) but the "Wait! Just...one...more...turn" button is black and I can't continue!
I can only exit to the main menu.
Oil is not showing up in water for me. The resource icon is there when I turn it on and it says oil when I hover over it with the mouse but there is no texture for it. Anyone else have this issue?
