I thought they were technically at war already? You know, since the Korea war? Anyway, I think NK is scaremongering again. They know a new war with the South and the US is suicide.

No, they ripped up the armistice. And they know the US can't nuke them or mount a massive invasion without political repercussions. They could survive for a while and then make peace again, having frightened the world, boosted their own position, and forced the US and its allies into negotiations.
When they're shelling Seoul, I'll believe this is something other than dick waving. North Korea has for too long cried wolf. Our default response should be to expect a bark when they are shouting bite.

You know this whole time I have thought Un was merely posturing in order to prevent himself being deposed by the military to prove his strength and possibly get more food/resources from the rest of the world. I am starting to be less sure...
