Name: The Global Defense Initiative
Avatar; The Legend of Aang and Command and Conquer

Long ago the four nations lived in harmony, then there was a bit of a bump when the fire nation attacked then they lived in mostly harmony again. Then, everything changed when a mysterious meteor landed at the south pole. The meteor brought with it a strange crystal structure that soon began to spread across the landscape.
Water benders found that they could use the crystals to provide massive amounts of power to their bending and many started taking the crystal as a power in drinks and the like. Little did they know that the crystal had degenerative properties and soon the succumbed to horrible mutations.
Meanwhile the Fire Nation found ways to adapt the crystal to be an energy source and brought about a new era of innovation and industry with new tanks and new machines making them once again a leading power in the world.It wasn't long before the Fire nation was putting satellites in orbit, massive defensive armaments such as the Ion cannon. With space flight now a reality the three remaining cultures (Fire Nation, Norther Water tribe and the Earth Kingdom) banded together in a defensive alliance they called the GDI (Global defense initiative) to protect themselves from new and sinister forces arising on the planet.

By the way: I will need to return to do work on the Rouge Federation, so that GDI can have to face the danger of mixing Dwarf science with space ships! :D

The Rouge Federation

The once mighty Galactic Federation shrank and lessened by method of a bloody civil war with a power rebellious force, whose usage of drone warfare and diplomatic ploys with the races of the Federation allowed for a great weakening of the federal government. Indeed the Galactic Federation has retreated most of its forces to a single sector. Yet the rebels were not unbeatable...

Spoiler what happened :
Eventaully a single vessel and its crew manages to deliver vital information to the main Federal base, resulting in the mission of taking down the Rebel flagship. O and durning the way to the "Last Stand" the crew manage to make contact with a forgotten species: the Crystals. This is presuming they survived the journey and had the right roll dices for the Crystal recruitment events.


Although the rebellion was eventually crushed the Galatic Federation suffered too much to handle. The weakened power had indeed faced with a greater threat than the rebels; a lose of sovereign dominion. The once powerful force had faced itself a fallen power, that would struggle to rebuild. Death was not to be ultimate however for the dissolving the federation came with a voluntary arrangement that saw a successor. Yet the Second Galatic Federation itself would fall into nothingness as a second great civil conflict was possible to emerge... yet things were not be...

During this time a vessel discovered a world larger and more lively than other worlds in the Federation. A quick scan (thanks to the slug's psyche senses) showed the planet had intelligent live. Yet the investigation team of 4 veterans, a mantis, a rockman, a slug and a human, were not to return to the ship. It came clear the world was dangerous, filled of aggressive beasts, larger than could be though monsters, bronze collosues and... civilizations most unusual.

Humans had somehow settled on this world but they in a Medeival status...

Then there were the elves, who on first signting were keen looked at for their guardianship of the woods... till it was discovered the cruelities they would act on those who hurt woods, including cannibalism.

There was also goblins, whom were more vicius than even the mantis.

But then... there were the dwarfs, who would make up the venture's lost.

The Dwarfs had developed civilizations of booze and industry. They were quite adventures, creating fortresses to use as foundational holds for mining and other harvesting operations. This often came with danger. From the surface they faced goblins desiring to seize their fortress (plus children), elves angry about being offered wood, humans supicius about their missing merchant, other dwarfs often through a berserk state, wonderinb monsters such as the minotaur, titans, the undead and "the kings of the beasts" such as unicorns, giant dingoes and giant sponges. They also faced dangers from digging to the underground, such as giant spiders, forgotten beasts and fire imps. Some even were said to have... "reached the bottom." The truth?

Spoiler the truth? :
THEY DUG TO HELL AND RELEASED DEMONS! Although still better chance a demon than a giant sponge... especially a skeletal giant sponge.


Anyway the Federation made attempts to bring the world under their dominion, managing to get the humans on the planet to join voluntary and convinced the dwarfs through promises of more worlds to dig in. They also manage to "pursued" the elves to accept federal dominion and managed (through the martial strengths of both the mantis and rockmen) to convince even the evil bend goblins to agree. Even the kobolds, a endangered species, were placed into federal care.

Of course the world itself would have a special status in the federation; it was litarally caterogorised as "untameable" with fears of the dreaded necromancers and beats of the night that lurked on the world.

Eventually the federation in its decline took a new face inspired by the dwarfs; of a renewed and industry. Hence the now "Rouge Federation" was forged.

Humanity's dominion in the federation declined even with the humans from the dwarf's home world as the other species began a grow. The dwarfs found themselves a perticully powerful pace for their industry and commitment to adventure, becoming friends with the mechanical engi and the warrior rockmen, while the slugs found another species to greedily exploit trade with. The zolten found the elves unusual and a raiser of ethical debate. The goblins found comradeship with the violent mantises, while the crystal isolation were interrupted only by complaint of kobold thievery.

In the end the universe was to face a new series of dangers: the Rouge Federation.

Make Up

The Rouge Federation is made up of the following species: crystals, dwarfs, elves, engi, goblins, humans, kobold, mantis, slugs, rockmen and zoltan.

Crystalmen: the second most rarest species, they are a subset of the rockmen whom who rejected their species' violent ways long ago. Isolative they are known for their power to "lockdown" (cover a room in crystals, to keep the doors shut...) as well the similar physical skills to the rockmen and a reduced suffocation damage, although they are slow and lack the rockmen's fire resistance.

Dwarf: "intelligent" alcohol-dependent, industry focused humanoids. They tend to live in mountain fortress, evident in their skills in mining, metal working, masonry and other applications of craftsmanship. Renewed traders, with friendly relations with the humans, a so-so relation with the hippies elves and a hostility towards the baby saving snatching goblins. Are able to enter a martial trance when facing multiple enemies to the determent of said enemies. Are also prone to berserk against their own comrades, especially if denied alcohol.

Elves: medium sized creatures with a bizarre commitment to trees. Known to get aggressive to any who try to trade them wood. Known to consume the flesh of other species and their own kin. Often hated, with the notable expectation of the elven king of dwarfs; Cacame Awemedinade. (warning: language)

Engi: a mysterious mechanical whose bodies are made from trillions of nanomachines and who process excellent engineering skills. Not as rugged for combat as other species. Despite being mostly made up of nanobots, Engis can still suffocate and die from lack of oxygen. The many scientific anomalies of the Engi have confused and sparked debate between human scientists for years, as they argue incessantly over whether the Engi are actual organisms, or sentient machines.

Goblins: intelligent, evil aggressors that live in mountains and are the main opponent of the dwarfs. Infamous for kidnapping the children of other races, whom they bring us as goblins. Known to recruit trolls, cave crocodiles, cave dragons and other beasts for sieges. That said they can often claim to have merciful aspect, such as saving dwarfen children from the fates of the dwarf fortresses and the sieges could be argued to be a method of mass killing to avoid the more horrific fates the dwarfs may suffer, especially from the underground.

Humans: was the most common species in the federation. Process no special abilities nor weaknesses, whiletheir medieval counterparts are known for their siege tactics.

Kobolds: a endangered thievish species.

Mantis: a vicious, destructive, opportunistic warrior race. While humans and most other species have manufactured handheld weaponry to utilize in combat, the Mantis usually default to their agility, and sharpened exoskeleton appendages to tear through their enemies, and their skill as warriors goes almost unchallenged in 1v1 combat. The Mantis also possess extremely acidic saliva which can burn through flesh and melt most metal alloys.

Slugs: the third rarest species. Native to a nebula system their eyes are underdeveloped, instead "seeing" through method of evolving unique psychic abilities. While not as aggressive as the Rockmen or the Mantis, Slugs are very, very greedy, and are known to prey upon ships that wander into their home systems, as well as resort to piracy in other systems.

Rockman: as hard and rugged as solid rock the warrior rockmen. Tend not to be adventurers, desiring to stay in their own borders but there are plenty of expectations. They are fire immune and strong but slow.

Zoltan: an enlightened species who are close allies of the engi. Their bodies composed of pure, harnessable energy that they often use to help power ship systems. This has influence their engineering, allowing for the development of special shields that can absorb damage, abet till it receives enough pummelling to vanish. They are a peaceful species, not physical suited for combat.

Note: the game FTL did not give much info on the political system of the Federation but it is quite quasi federal (more or less), while the feudalism of the dwarfs and their fellow Medieval species have to be considered.

El Presidente is the reason for the new Tropican glory! After taking office for a third time after his short retirement after a bloody coup democratic election El Presidente began to take part in funding the UN's UNITY space programme that was aimed to flee humanity from a doomed Earth, narrowly overshadowed dramatically beating Nwabudike Morgan. El Presidente convinced his (and Tropico's faction leaders) way into the spaceship UNITY. After taking the false credit of saving the live of Captain Garland from a Tropcion Spartan assassin El Presidente demonstrates one of the trillion flaws his perfectness by appointing himself getting elected to be colony leader for the would be salvation. The other notable U.N.I.T.Y leaders decided to go with the flow in preparation to make a pawn of him for their own visionary agendas. had voted him overwhelmingly!

Upon arriving in the new world Garland got assassinated by Juanito who claimed to work for El Presidente died from a terrible accident. El Presidente got the honour of renaming the new home: New Tropico. The other leaders began their manipulation agreed and took positions in advisory posts with the factions. Now the puppet sovereign El Presidente rules the 7 greater leaders advisors scheme for power. hail the one true ruler!

El Presidente will either be beaten in a election despite his rigging or be desposed by the other leaders. Hail El Presidente!

Factions

The Tropican Spartan Federalists: the Tropicon Militarist and parts of the Nationalist (ironically for the foreign influence) factions have been absorbed by the military minded Spartans. Leaded by Colonel Corazón Santiago from Puerto Rico with General Rodriguez as second in command the faction has support from the Tropican military. The faction is survivalist in nature, with a focus on a armed populace and a strong military.

The Tropican Military: leaded by General Rodriguez, who so happens to be also a member of the Spartens. Desires order and a strong military above all else.

Gaia's Stepdaughters: the Environmentalists in New Tropico have been absorbed into a organisation that strives to "not repeat the environmental mistakes of Earth." Lady Deirdre Skye from Free Scotland seeks harmony with the new world. The Gaians are pacifistic and freedom-loving, although they may take aggression towards those they regard as threatening the planet. Sunny Flowers has found herself a position as a spokesperson for the Stepdaughters.

University of New Tropico: founded with the aid of many of the Intellectuals the University of New Tropico is chaired by the Russian technocrat Academician Prokhor Zakharov. Zakharov values knowledge and scientific advancement above all else, including ethics.

Society of Tropicon Intellectuals: making up both the University of New Tropico and the UN Peacekeepers Force. Miss Pineapple represent this group. Keen on education and promoting liberty.

The UN Peacekeeping Forces: leaded by Commissioner Pravin Lal this UN faction focuses to keep the peace through diplomacy and maintaining the United Nations charter, as well as promote democracy.

Lord's Believers: absorbing the Religious Tropicons the faction is joined leaded by the Protestant Sister Miriam Godwinson and the Catholic Reverend Esteban. Godwinson considered the fate of Earth as the wroth of God and hopes (along with Esteban) to ensure Tropico is on the right path. Wary of secular technology.

The Tropicon Hive: commanded by its Chairman, Sheng-Ji Yang, the organisation desires to see Tropico as a police state for the sake of order and transcendence. Based on legalism, with focus on control and security.

The Tropicon Nationalist Club: El Diablo and his boys are hostile towards foreigners and disapprove of anything that makes Tropico subordinate to or weaker than other nations. They want Tropico to be strong through their own nationalist vision.

The Morgan-Lopez Capital Club: founded and funded by both Morgan Industries and Lopez Co. The Capitalists desire Tropico to be have a thriving free market, as well as crime safety.

The Tropicon Communist Allaince: founded and leaded by Comrade Vasquez, who is concerned with Tropico's welfare and quality of life, desiring basic essentials like housing, food, and healthcare for all of the citizens. Recently a Australian known as Foreman Domai is rising to be a popular face of the Communists...

El Presidente's Party for New Tropico: although officially leaded by El Presidente, it is chaired by his loyal servant Penultimo, who leads a cult of personality around El Presidente.
 
By the way... what civ is this for again? 3, 4 or 5? Just thinking of leaders and whether there be faction music or not, along with unique buildings.

While Tropico is obvious the Rouge Federation would need a leader too. Thankfully it too is obvious: King Cacame Awemedinade would make a excellent leader for the civ!

Backstory (in a nutshell):

Major Metal Gear Solid 3 spoilers (and slight spoilers for some other games in the series), so this will be in a spoiler

Spoiler :
1822: Zephaniah Mann, a British-American entrepreneur, had triplet sons while still living in London. The first two, Redmond and Blutarch, were normal. However, Gray Mann, the youngest of the three, could talk immediately at birth. Disgusted, Zephaniah attempted to murder Gray, but he was "kidnapped" by an eagle before the act could happen.

1850: Zephaniah Mann dies, dividing his entire state to Redmond and Blutarch. They immediately start fighting over the land, eventually hiring mercenaries to fight a secret war between each other.

1890: Blutarch, approaching death, hires the ancestor of Dell "The Engineer" Comagher, Radigan Conagher, to build a life extending machine with australium, a newly discovered material in Australia with mythical properties. He is approached by a mysterious woman, named Emily, who promises all the australium he needs if he builds a second machine for Redmond. Radigan complies

1894: The machines are complete, and both Redmond and Blutarch are hooked up. The feud between the two brothers therefore continues for decades in a stalemate, with neither side approaching victory.

1964: Following the failure of the "Virtuous Mission" a week before, CIA operative Naked Snake is sent into the USSR to kill "The Boss", the leader of Cobra Unit and his former mentor. During the VM, The Boss and her unit defected to the USSR during a mission to get a US-defecting nuclear scientist Nikolai Sokolov out of the USSR. The Boss had a Davy Crockett nuclear missile on her possession during the VM, and fired it at a Soviet base, making it look the US did it. Sokolov also had previously built the Shagohod, a tank with the capacity to launch nuclear weapons. Thus began Operation Snake Eater.

As Snake started to execute the members of Cobra Unit, he found out about the Philosophers, a secret society made up of American, Soviet, and Chinese businessmen at the end of World War I. Secretly, they amassed a huge fortune between each other and funded many weapon programs, with the intended purpose of combating the rise of fascism. One member was Gray Mann, the immortal son of Zepheniah Mann.

The Philosophers, unable to settle their differences after the Second World War, hid their amassed fortune (over 100 billion dollars) in various banks in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Australia as most members died of old age. Grey Mann secretly tapped into these funds whenever he needed, but the good majority remained undisturbed, with the only way to open it being in a microfilm.

The Cold War is revealed to be secretly all a plot between the Americans, Soviets, and Chinese to obtain the microfilm, known as The Legacy. The VM was, in fact, a plot to get the Legacy, and the Boss' defection was the CIA's plan all along. She was to "defect" and steal the Legacy from a GRU colonel Yevgeny Borisovitch Volgin, who in fact had the microfilm. However, when he fired the Davy Crockett at his own base to cover the defection up, which was /not/ according to plan. Thusly, Naked Snake was secretly set to retrieve the Legacy and kill his mentor, who was used a pawn. Not finding out until after the fact Naked Snake felt betrayed by his own nation, he retired from the FOX unit, but not before being redubbed "The Big Boss" for killing The Boss.

1968: RED hires 9 elite mercenaries to finally end the war against BLU. Known as the Scout, the Pyro, the Soldier, the Heavy, the Demoman, the Engineer, the Medic, the Sniper, and the Spy, they start breaking the tenacious stalemate in favor for RED. This is marked of the beginning of the Gravel Wars, where the war started to flare up to the point of almost becoming public knowledge.

1970: FOX is disbanded after a botched mission in Colombia. (I never played Portable Ops, so I have /no/ idea what actually happened, except it would take me multiple paragraphs to explain it, so :p)

1971: Gray arranges a meeting with Redmond and Blutarch, with the implied goal of brokering a peace between the two. However, he instead murders the two brothers, and takes control of both RED and BLU. The 9 Mercanaries defect to Mann Co., the former arms supplier of both RED and BLU. Gray responds with a giant robot army, declaring a farce war to solidfy his control of RED and BLU while also taking control of Mann Co. However, this war was simply a false flag while he gets the genetic information of the 9 mercenaries.

Unrelated, the US Army creates FOXHOUND, an organization similar to the CIA's recently disbanded FOX.

1972: With the technology perfected, the first major cloning project. dubbed "Les Efants Terribles", began. Three clones of Big Boss were created. Solid Snake, the first, got all of Big Boss's dominant traits. The second, Liquid Snake, got his recessive traits. Finally, the last clone, Soldius Snake, was a perfect clone of Big Boss.

RED and BLU are officially merged into Gray Gravel Co, and Gray Mann appoints a little girl as the CEO in a ruse. Not wanting to have the war end in a perpetual stalemate just like the war between RED and BLU, Gray arranges a duel between her and the CEO of Mann Co., Saxton Hale. When he refuses to fight the girl, he is legally obligated to hand over Mann. Co to Gray Mann. The nine elite mercanaries disperse, and despite an attempt to reunify them against Gray, the attempt goes nowhere as an insane mayor has the majority of them hanged. Only the Heavy, Medic, Sniper, and Engineer survive (for not being on the premises), and live their remainder of their lives in peace.

1974: Operation Peace Walker happens (This is supposedly really huge.... but I never played Peace Walker and I don't want to spoil it for myself. So look it up yourself, please :p)

1990s: The Genome Project, involving genetically modifying special forces soldier, is undergone by the US Army. Officially dubbed the Next-Generation Special Forces, they contain the DNA of not only Big Boss, but the DNA of all nine of the '68 RED mercenaries, after a mysterious donor for the project "insisted" for it.

1995: Big Boss, amassing a large force, coups a small African nation and creates Outer Heaven, a paradise for scarred soldiers to "find a place in society" and "not get taken advantage of by governments". FOXHOUND agent Solid Snake is sent to Outer Heaven with the expressed goal of eliminating Big Boss. Big Boss is shown to have what is now dubbed as the first Metal Gear, a nuclear-armed walker that is the legacy of the Shagohod and the Peace Walker. Big Boss is forced into hiding, and Outer Heaven is destroyed.

1999: Big Boss, revealed to be alive, once again coups another nation, this time a small Central Asian nation known as Zanzibar Land, in an attempt to reestablish Outer Heaven. Solid Snake is once again sent to finish Big Boss. Unlike the first mission, this one does not go as smoothly. Snake is forced to critically injure his best friend, Frank "Grey Fox" Jaeger, after it is revealed he was loyal to Big Boss's cause. Big Boss is presumably killed by Solid Snake with a makeshift flamethrower, ending the spy's massive legacy (He actually lives, but this timeline stops in 2005 and he doesn't reappear until later so go with it)

2001: With gay marriage legalized in the Netherlands, the Medic and Heavy, approaching old age and death, are publicly seen for the last time marrying.

2005: FOXHOUND goes rouge, demanding the body of Big Boss and 1 Billion Dollars as they seize Shadow Moses Island, which hosted the newest Metal Gear, REX. The Next-Generation Special Forces, who were also on Shadow Moses Island at the time, join FOXHOUND and serve as their main grunts in this operation. Led officially by Liquid Snake, his main financial backer turned out to be none other than Gray Mann, who is using FOXHOUND in an attempt for world domination. Solid Snake, retiring after the events of Zanzibar Land, is brought back to deal with Shadow Moses. However, in a turn of fate, he is defeated in battle by Grey Fox, now a cyborg, and is critically wounded. Fearing nuclear war, the US caves to FOXHOUND, and Gray soon de facto controls the world's only superpower....


And before you ask, no that's not how the Shadow Moses incident plays out in the game. Changed it because I wanted to justify Gray Mann in control.

What play to mix with 'Allo 'Allo!?

Shakespeare's individual plays could be used for connectivity... well we can call certain history plays (such as Henry VI Par 1 to Richard III... although it could start with Henry V and end with Henry VIII) which prove quite intrigiuing.

Anyway: in note for the leaders we will need to decide who will lead the Padishah Empire of Westeros or the Seven Kingdoms of Arrakis... we will need to make a name that truly combines, like the Arrkasis-Westeros Empire... for that the leader selected would determine the backstory.

El Presidente is the reason for the new Tropican glory! After taking office for a third time after his short retirement after a bloody coup democratic election El Presidente began to take part in funding the UN's UNITY space programme that was aimed to flee humanity from a doomed Earth, narrowly overshadowed dramatically beating Nwabudike Morgan. El Presidente convinced his (and Tropico's faction leaders) way into the spaceship UNITY. After taking the false credit of saving the live of Captain Garland from a Tropcion Spartan assassin El Presidente demonstrates one of the trillion flaws his perfectness by appointing himself getting elected to be colony leader for the would be salvation. The other notable U.N.I.T.Y leaders decided to go with the flow in preparation to make a pawn of him for their own visionary agendas. had voted him overwhelmingly!

Upon arriving in the new world Garland got assassinated by Juanito who claimed to work for El Presidente died from a terrible accident. El Presidente got the honour of renaming the new home: New Tropico. The other leaders began their manipulation agreed and took positions in advisory posts with the factions. Now the puppet sovereign El Presidente rules the 7 greater leaders advisors scheme for power. hail the one true ruler!

El Presidente will either be beaten in a election despite his rigging or be desposed by the other leaders. Hail El Presidente!

Factions

The Tropican Spartan Federalists: the Tropicon Militarist and parts of the Nationalist (ironically for the foreign influence) factions have been absorbed by the military minded Spartans. Leaded by Colonel Corazón Santiago from Puerto Rico with General Rodriguez as second in command the faction has support from the Tropican military. The faction is survivalist in nature, with a focus on a armed populace and a strong military.

The Tropican Military: leaded by General Rodriguez, who so happens to be also a member of the Spartens. Desires order and a strong military above all else.

Gaia's Stepdaughters: the Environmentalists in New Tropico have been absorbed into a organisation that strives to "not repeat the environmental mistakes of Earth." Lady Deirdre Skye from Free Scotland seeks harmony with the new world. The Gaians are pacifistic and freedom-loving, although they may take aggression towards those they regard as threatening the planet. Sunny Flowers has found herself a position as a spokesperson for the Stepdaughters.

University of New Tropico: founded with the aid of many of the Intellectuals the University of New Tropico is chaired by the Russian technocrat Academician Prokhor Zakharov. Zakharov values knowledge and scientific advancement above all else, including ethics.

Society of Tropicon Intellectuals: making up both the University of New Tropico and the UN Peacekeepers Force. Miss Pineapple represent this group. Keen on education and promoting liberty.

The UN Peacekeeping Forces: leaded by Commissioner Pravin Lal this UN faction focuses to keep the peace through diplomacy and maintaining the United Nations charter, as well as promote democracy.

Lord's Believers: absorbing the Religious Tropicons the faction is joined leaded by the Protestant Sister Miriam Godwinson and the Catholic Reverend Esteban. Godwinson considered the fate of Earth as the wroth of God and hopes (along with Esteban) to ensure Tropico is on the right path. Wary of secular technology.

The Tropicon Hive: commanded by its Chairman, Sheng-Ji Yang, the organisation desires to see Tropico as a police state for the sake of order and transcendence. Based on legalism, with focus on control and security.

The Tropicon Nationalist Club: El Diablo and his boys are hostile towards foreigners and disapprove of anything that makes Tropico subordinate to or weaker than other nations. They want Tropico to be strong through their own nationalist vision.

The Morgan-Lopez Capital Club: founded and funded by both Morgan Industries and Lopez Co. The Capitalists desire Tropico to be have a thriving free market, as well as crime safety.

The Tropicon Communist Allaince: founded and leaded by Comrade Vasquez, who is concerned with Tropico's welfare and quality of life, desiring basic essentials like housing, food, and healthcare for all of the citizens. Recently a Australian known as Foreman Domai is rising to be a popular face of the Communists...

El Presidente's Party for New Tropico: although officially leaded by El Presidente, it is chaired by his loyal servant Penultimo, who leads a cult of personality around El Presidente.

By the way... what civ is this for again? 3, 4 or 5? Just thinking of leaders and whether there be faction music or not, along with unique buildings.

While Tropico is obvious the Rouge Federation would need a leader too. Thankfully it too is obvious: King Cacame Awemedinade would make a excellent leader for the civ!

Backstory (in a nutshell):

Major Metal Gear Solid 3 spoilers (and slight spoilers for some other games in the series), so this will be in a spoiler

1822: Zephaniah Mann, a British-American entrepreneur, had triplet sons while still living in London. The first two, Redmond and Blutarch, were normal. However, Gray Mann, the youngest of the three, could talk immediately at birth. Disgusted, Zephaniah attempted to murder Gray, but he was "kidnapped" by an eagle before the act could happen.

1850: Zephaniah Mann dies, dividing his entire state to Redmond and Blutarch. They immediately start fighting over the land, eventually hiring mercenaries to fight a secret war between each other.

1890: Blutarch, approaching death, hires the ancestor of Dell "The Engineer" Comagher, Radigan Conagher, to build a life extending machine with australium, a newly discovered material in Australia with mythical properties. He is approached by a mysterious woman, named Emily, who promises all the australium he needs if he builds a second machine for Redmond. Radigan complies

1894: The machines are complete, and both Redmond and Blutarch are hooked up. The feud between the two brothers therefore continues for decades in a stalemate, with neither side approaching victory.

1964: Following the failure of the "Virtuous Mission" a week before, CIA operative Naked Snake is sent into the USSR to kill "The Boss", the leader of Cobra Unit and his former mentor. During the VM, The Boss and her unit defected to the USSR during a mission to get a US-defecting nuclear scientist Nikolai Sokolov out of the USSR. The Boss had a Davy Crockett nuclear missile on her possession during the VM, and fired it at a Soviet base, making it look the US did it. Sokolov also had previously built the Shagohod, a tank with the capacity to launch nuclear weapons. Thus began Operation Snake Eater.

As Snake started to execute the members of Cobra Unit, he found out about the Philosophers, a secret society made up of American, Soviet, and Chinese businessmen at the end of World War I. Secretly, they amassed a huge fortune between each other and funded many weapon programs, with the intended purpose of combating the rise of fascism. One member was Gray Mann, the immortal son of Zepheniah Mann.

The Philosophers, unable to settle their differences after the Second World War, hid their amassed fortune (over 100 billion dollars) in various banks in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Australia as most members died of old age. Grey Mann secretly tapped into these funds whenever he needed, but the good majority remained undisturbed, with the only way to open it being in a microfilm.

The Cold War is revealed to be secretly all a plot between the Americans, Soviets, and Chinese to obtain the microfilm, known as The Legacy. The VM was, in fact, a plot to get the Legacy, and the Boss' defection was the CIA's plan all along. She was to "defect" and steal the Legacy from a GRU colonel Yevgeny Borisovitch Volgin, who in fact had the microfilm. However, when he fired the Davy Crockett at his own base to cover the defection up, which was /not/ according to plan. Thusly, Naked Snake was secretly set to retrieve the Legacy and kill his mentor, who was used a pawn. Not finding out until after the fact Naked Snake felt betrayed by his own nation, he retired from the FOX unit, but not before being redubbed "The Big Boss" for killing The Boss.

1968: RED hires 9 elite mercenaries to finally end the war against BLU. Known as the Scout, the Pyro, the Soldier, the Heavy, the Demoman, the Engineer, the Medic, the Sniper, and the Spy, they start breaking the tenacious stalemate in favor for RED. This is marked of the beginning of the Gravel Wars, where the war started to flare up to the point of almost becoming public knowledge.

1970: FOX is disbanded after a botched mission in Colombia. (I never played Portable Ops, so I have /no/ idea what actually happened, except it would take me multiple paragraphs to explain it, so :p)

1971: Gray arranges a meeting with Redmond and Blutarch, with the implied goal of brokering a peace between the two. However, he instead murders the two brothers, and takes control of both RED and BLU. The 9 Mercanaries defect to Mann Co., the former arms supplier of both RED and BLU. Gray responds with a giant robot army, declaring a farce war to solidfy his control of RED and BLU while also taking control of Mann Co. However, this war was simply a false flag while he gets the genetic information of the 9 mercenaries.

Unrelated, the US Army creates FOXHOUND, an organization similar to the CIA's recently disbanded FOX.

1972: With the technology perfected, the first major cloning project. dubbed "Les Efants Terribles", began. Three clones of Big Boss were created. Solid Snake, the first, got all of Big Boss's dominant traits. The second, Liquid Snake, got his recessive traits. Finally, the last clone, Soldius Snake, was a perfect clone of Big Boss.

RED and BLU are officially merged into Gray Gravel Co, and Gray Mann appoints a little girl as the CEO in a ruse. Not wanting to have the war end in a perpetual stalemate just like the war between RED and BLU, Gray arranges a duel between her and the CEO of Mann Co., Saxton Hale. When he refuses to fight the girl, he is legally obligated to hand over Mann. Co to Gray Mann. The nine elite mercanaries disperse, and despite an attempt to reunify them against Gray, the attempt goes nowhere as an insane mayor has the majority of them hanged. Only the Heavy, Medic, Sniper, and Engineer survive (for not being on the premises), and live their remainder of their lives in peace.

1974: Operation Peace Walker happens (This is supposedly really huge.... but I never played Peace Walker and I don't want to spoil it for myself. So look it up yourself, please :p)

1990s: The Genome Project, involving genetically modifying special forces soldier, is undergone by the US Army. Officially dubbed the Next-Generation Special Forces, they contain the DNA of not only Big Boss, but the DNA of all nine of the '68 RED mercenaries, after a mysterious donor for the project "insisted" for it.

1995: Big Boss, amassing a large force, coups a small African nation and creates Outer Heaven, a paradise for scarred soldiers to "find a place in society" and "not get taken advantage of by governments". FOXHOUND agent Solid Snake is sent to Outer Heaven with the expressed goal of eliminating Big Boss. Big Boss is shown to have what is now dubbed as the first Metal Gear, a nuclear-armed walker that is the legacy of the Shagohod and the Peace Walker. Big Boss is forced into hiding, and Outer Heaven is destroyed.

1999: Big Boss, revealed to be alive, once again coups another nation, this time a small Central Asian nation known as Zanzibar Land, in an attempt to reestablish Outer Heaven. Solid Snake is once again sent to finish Big Boss. Unlike the first mission, this one does not go as smoothly. Snake is forced to critically injure his best friend, Frank "Grey Fox" Jaeger, after it is revealed he was loyal to Big Boss's cause. Big Boss is presumably killed by Solid Snake with a makeshift flamethrower, ending the spy's massive legacy (He actually lives, but this timeline stops in 2005 and he doesn't reappear until later so go with it)

2001: With gay marriage legalized in the Netherlands, the Medic and Heavy, approaching old age and death, are publicly seen for the last time marrying.

2005: FOXHOUND goes rouge, demanding the body of Big Boss and 1 Billion Dollars as they seize Shadow Moses Island, which hosted the newest Metal Gear, REX. The Next-Generation Special Forces, who were also on Shadow Moses Island at the time, join FOXHOUND and serve as their main grunts in this operation. Led officially by Liquid Snake, his main financial backer turned out to be none other than Gray Mann, who is using FOXHOUND in an attempt for world domination. Solid Snake, retiring after the events of Zanzibar Land, is brought back to deal with Shadow Moses. However, in a turn of fate, he is defeated in battle by Grey Fox, now a cyborg, and is critically wounded. Fearing nuclear war, the US caves to FOXHOUND, and Gray soon de facto controls the world's only superpower....


And before you ask, no that's not how the Shadow Moses incident plays out in the game. Changed it because I wanted to justify Gray Mann in control.

Sounds nice. One question, though: Is this combination with the good guys from MGS or the bad guys.
