Why wouldn't both of them be my scumbuddies? christos has made a testable(ish) claim to some people in private. Given how vague some of his claims have been, he either writes to me before next dawn to make them testable or I'll vote for his lynching every singel day until the game is over or either one of us is dead.

I'm not saying I know whether he is or isn't scum, just that the fact that he's voting for christos doesn't say much about whether he is or isn't scum. It's a perfectly reasonable vote regardless of his alignment.

That is not exactly true, he still could lose the only thing that mattered to him, the ring. His ability was so complex that apart of the mentioned faction scan and universe scan, it told him if the target had or not the ring.

It doesn't explain why Christos was fingering the people he did. Does SamSniped have the Ring or is he just non-Town? If you're going to publicly admit to having a scanning role, actually make it helpful to the town!
