Patria Grande: Civilizations of the Americas

Guys, Guys, there's easier ways to please Zupay, just get me a good enough amount of llamas...

Are you kidding? Leugi is worth at least 12 Llamas.

Do I look like I'm made of money? The porto-altar and knife were expensive enough.

Let me tell you guys a tale - supposedly, the last Emperor of Byzantium wasn't ever killed when the Ottomans took Constantinople - he turned into marble, sank to the bottom of the Bosphorus, and now waits for Constantinople to be Greek again so he will rise from his marble sleep and revive the Byzantine Empire and make Constantinople great again and all that.

That's basically what happened with Leugi, except now he's under the Cerro de Potosi, and all we have to do is revive the Inca Empire AND MAKE CUZCO GREAT AGAIN.

When was Cuzco not great?

Maybe if we make a bunch of South American civs he'll return as a rage demon...

Hmm, might have to make it crappy mods of South American civs, just to be on the safe side. Like say, Venezuela with the unique unit Venezuelan soldier and unique building Venezuelan hospital. And we can just make its UA a combination of actual UA's from Firaxis civs. Leugi won't have any choice but to rise from his slumber after that indignity against South America has been lobbed.

Well, uh, I was actually planning on making a moderate-quality SA civ as a sort of dragon challenge per se. Pretty sure I made up the term dragon challenge, as well.

Uh... *pulls out dartboard* Tairona civ coming your way!

Make a split of the Inca empire. The early kingdom of Cuzco, the Tawantinsuyu, and the kingdom of Vilcabamba.

So, this is something I did for my own use, but given Leugi's extended absence I don't think he would mind me posting it here (and it may help him out if he ever decides to return).

It's no secret that a few of Leugi's mods have fallen behind in terms of bug and mod support.

This is essentially a patch for his Gran Colombia mod (which I know is one of his more popular mods).

Download and install the last version of Gran Colombia off Steam and have it in your mods folder. Open up this zip file (it has a folder with the same name as the Gran Colombia mod). Move or paste this folder into your mods folder and allow it to overwrite any of the same named files from the Gran Colombia mod.

This should update Gran Colombia to fix its bugs and provide full mod support (providing I didn't make a last minute mistake setting it up for general use... let me know and I'll correct it).

This only corrects bugs and provides mod support. I did not change any abilities, text, art, etc. (unless where it was necessary to update the mod). The mod could probably stand to be tweaked/copy-edited a bit (those civilopedia entries :P ), but my goal was only to make Leugi's mod playable again and not to re-do it.

Anyway, I hope this helps some of you guys out and encourages everyone to use one of Leugi's best mods in their games again.

Awesome! This was one of my secret mod wishes. I would love it to see the Tupi and Tiwanku updated. Thank you!

PS: I bet HoopThrower would love you if Chile gets an update.

Great job Tomatekh! I was wanting to do something similar but given recent events I feel like people would believe I was a warmongering menace to the world.

That said though, I've been in talks with people recently to try and finish up some of the stuff we know Leugi has been working on as a community effort. I've already got CL and Sukritact's Autonomous Kingdom on board with helping, but would love to make it a wider community effort to get at the very least Rio de la Plata finished up. We've got Leugi's art and his design, so the only things that would be needed is actually making that design a reality and redoing some of the models (which we've got pictures of, but not the models themselves.) We've only got a small leaderscene too, so TPangolin has created a new one which echoes Leugi's original instead of just a full size version of the original. Once Greece is out I'll look at what's actually needed and make it a more organised project instead of a drawing board one, at which point the community can hopefully come together and work on releasing Rio de la Plata as close to Leugi's design as possible in memoriam.
