The World Shall Be Ours! A German HOI2:DDA AAR!

The Luftwaffe plans for any possibility, Supreme Commander, and as such we do not focus on who our enemies are or may be. We just ask for the resources so we can do our job, regardless of the political circumstances.

Thankyou for your loyalty, I shall be sure to allocate the Luftwaffe extra champaign at the next christmas office party!

Oh and build you some planes as well!:D

I am of the belief that while capable of aiding our victory the airforce will not win us the war, victory or defeat will depend upon how quickly our forces can punch through the enemy line

Mein Fuhrer, the victory of the Reich is dependent upon a strong Panzer force

We need more sexy panzers for our army, how else shall we be walking silly through the streets of Moscow in the fashion of the Von Python air stuntsmen?

Herr Gottwinn; I must respectfully disagree; while a properly equipped Strategic air force might bring Britain too it's knees, at the point when we have sufficient airplanes to dominate the British skies, we should be invading them! Not bombing future German Factories! We must furthermore concentrate on planes to support our troops, and destroying enemy war material is just as effective in destroying their IC. Now they must divert their production to keeping their existing troops alive, rather than building new ones.

Respectfully Arne von Haldern.

Believe me, there are few who would like to invade the British Isles more than me! The Strategic Fleet would not only concentrate on the United Kingdom, I am more worried about our communist neighbor to the East. Everyone here knows that the Soviet Union has the largest land army on Earth! It will take a very long time to reach Moscow and Leningrad, and I believe that we should level Moscow as an industrial and resource base, as well as shake the communist morale to the bone!

However, we do not even have sufficient technology to build the Strategic fleet of my dreams! So, it is my duty as a German to win the war and not only concentrate on the Luftwaffe. Without a strong ground force, the Reich will have trouble reclaiming even Alsace and Lorraine! I recognize that, and I believe that the Strategic Bombers would be a great asset in long drawn out battles that we will undoubtedly have against the larger empires on Earth.

Before we build a Strategic Fleet, I believe it best that we have fighters or interceptors to defend our cities from the British, as well as have ground support troops.

Just to reiterate, the Strategic Fleet was a suggestion for a much later date. We have bigger hurdles to tackle at this time.

Es lebe Deutschland!

Auf Wiederhören,

Gottwinn

That I can concur with, at the moment we should focus on fighters, and perhaps some fighter/bombers or medium bomber planes. First air superiority in Germany, then air superiority everywhere else!

On another note, I must stress the importance of securing our resource base. While we may produce enough energy, for now, our expanding industry will soon need more rare materials and metals to function. Luxembourg might be able to satisfy some of our metal need, as will Alsace and Lorraine, when these are added to the Reich. Rare materials are harder to come by, however, for a while the Soviet Union might provide us with the required resources, but ultimately these will have to be abandoned. The other large source of these is the British empire, in particular the far eastern regions and the Dutch colonies, if I remember correctly. This will require looking into.

Loyally Arne von Haldern.

Chapter 3 - The Anti-Comintern pact

1st January 1937 - 1st June 1937

With the completion of another Industry project, it was decided to move some research elsewhere. A lot of talk in the German army was that of a tactic named ‘Blitzkrieg’, and it was decided to explore furthers, should we come into conflict with any of our neighbours as we seek to expand. Although now 3 tech groups were focused on land, assurances were made to the Council Of Domination that other areas would soon receive the attention they deserve.

February 15th - after long negotiations, we sign a ’anti-comintern’ pact with our like minded friends the Italians and the Japanese, sealing our opposition to communism and it’s threat to the world. Both nations were eager to put their signatures on the paper, many handshakes being exchanged and beaming foreign ministers talking up friendship and mutual interests.

anticominternpactte6.png

"recognizing that the aim of the Communist International, known as the Comintern, is to disintegrate and subdue existing States by all the means at its command; convinced that the toleration of interference by the Communist International in the internal affairs of the nations not only endangers their internal peace and social well-being, but is also a menace to the peace of the world desirous of co-operating in the defense against Communist sub. .versive activities"

-Quote from the text of the pact

Head Of the Ministry Of Propaganda, swed14 was set the task of spinning this to benefit Germany as much possible and strengthen anti-communist resolve not just in we 3 nations, but around the globe.

March and a quick look at the situation in Spain shows us that the Nationalists are rapidly gaining the upper hand. Soon the communists will driven out and their threat to the Spanish eliminated! In April it is decided to have a closer look at the British and the Russians, so that the council may have a better idea of the current situation.

ukreportpc3.png

As you can see, the British have a very strong fleet and at current there is no chance in hell of us being able to defeat it. Their air force however does not seem that strong at current, the councils talk of achieving air superiority makes good sense.

ussrreportpa6.png

That is a lot of infantry divisions! Though Russia does have a lot of land to defend, and their troops are reported as being under equipped and poorly trained, we still need a lot of work done to build an army capable of defeating the Russians, they clearly have numbers on their side!

On April the 28th we were pleased to see that Spain is now entirely in the hands of the Nationalists! Our assistance has paid off, and we have learnt valuable lessons from the conflict.

Greeted personally on their return by the Supreme Commander himself, and the head and deputy head of the Luftwaffe Kan' Sharuminar and Godwyn, a great reception was thrown for the veterans of the Condor Legion on May the 5th.

Rest assured lads, Tanks shall play a large part as we re-arm ourselves and build an army worthy of the German nation!

This 'Blitzkrieg' idea we are working on calls for a large amounty of CAS bombers to be used in support of our Tanks and Infranty boys. Along side that, I concur that acheiving air superiority should be a strong prioirity for us, and as such I shall ensure that the airforce is given decent funding to develop a new fighter/interceptor force.

I agree that we must concentrate on the Red menace to the east. However, we cannot effectively engage the threat to the east without taking care of knocking the British from the British Isles. If we do this, we would be able to cripple their ability to send their long range bombers to the major industrial centers in the Reich. Taking the British Isles would not consume a large portion of our resources and could be rapidly dealt with. While this is being executed, our production capacity would be naturally geared towards the war effort in the east.

I am quite fine with letting the British run their Empire, they are anglo-saxon after all. The Soviets however are a threat which must be stopped!

Chapter 4 - The Rising Sun Strikes

1st June 1937 - 1st January 1938

imperialjapanjq1.gif

Following an incident the 6th of June, where Japanese and Chinese forces engaged in hostilities around the Marco Polo Bridge near Beijing, the Japanese officially declared war upon the nation of China. The Second Sino-Japanese War has begun!
The following day the United States announced it would be sending financial assistance to China, a clear sign it opposes Japan’s desire to dominate the region.
By the 16th June, the different Chinese factions had come to an agreement, creating a ‘unified front’ to fight the Japanese, putting their differences aside for the time being. Though despite this, the government of the Shanxi faction soon collapsed in the face of Japanese advance, and it’s remaining provinces were annexed fully by the Nationalist Chinese.

Officially we shall remain neutral in the conflict, though current policy is to seek good relations with the Japanese as their signature on the anti-comintern pact shows they are a potential ally against the Soviets.

In domestic news, we have begun anti-espionage efforts, seeking to clear the spies out of our country. It is having reasonable success, with plenty foreign agitators now lying dead in unmarked graves.

Additionally, with infantry numbers now increasing at a good rate, production can now be turned to building the planes our Luftwaffe needs to reign terror from the skies. Troop levels in the area in and around Konigsberg are now at satisfactory levels, should we come into conflict with Poland of any of our eastern neighbours they will be able to defend the area well and in fact launch offensives from it.

Moving into July, and the Communists in Russia have decided to aid the Chinese in their fight with Imperial Japan. German intelligence indicates this is most likely because they wish to see the Japanese become bogged down in China, and thus not be able to threaten the USSR eastern provinces. The 2 nations signed the Sino-Soviet Nonaggression Pact and the USSR appears to be signalling it will be sending volunteers to fight against the Japanese with the launch of ‘Operation Zet’.

As we progress into August another move is made away from Infantry production, with another run of Stuka’s ordered and construction began on several ‘light’ Panzers. If we are to be able to achieve the aims of the ‘Blitzkrieg’ doctrine in any war we may find ourselves in, we will need to particularly step up our production of Panzer divisions.

September the 9th and Japan announces the establishment of the nation of Mengkukuo in East Asia, in reality a puppet government serving the Imperial cause.

A few days later several members of the council of domination expressed their delight as it was announced further funding was now to be put into the Luftwaffe, with work beginning on developing blueprints for new interceptors, the plan being to put them into production a,s.a.p.

October 22nd - huge controversy and outrage as American, French and British newspapers all carry front page articles declaring the ‘Rape Of Nanjing’ as it is discovered by the world that Japanese Imperial Army units marching into the city (following amphibious landings on the Chinese coast) have been massacring civilians and committing untold atrocities, including rape and looting. Japans standing in the world has taken a huge blow, and it’s relations with the Democratic nations soured. German intelligence also reports that the Japanese have been forced to pay compensation to the Americans over an incident on the Yangtze River ( just outside of Nanjing) where Japanese forces sunk the US gun boat Panay.

Turning our eyes back to home, and Head Of The Heer IronMan2055 is pleased to announce that we have our first infantry unit to be upgraded to ‘39 infantry! And as we end the year and move into 1938, ArneHD was again instructed to over-see a move towards an economy based upon central planning, now giving us an additional 15% IC!

Excellent news with the Condor Legion. The Bf 109's are simply delightful craft, with them we can guarantee air cover throughout the Reich.

Additionally, with infantry numbers now increasing at a good rate, production can now be turned to building the planes our Luftwaffe needs to reign terror from the skies.

Finally! Fighters/interceptors and tactical/CAS bombers are a must! I'm glad to see the construction of Stuka's, they will greatly add to our arsenal.

I don't know why, but as Germany I always forget to reinforce East Prussia. My invasions of Poland are always very well planned, except for when I realise (usually around the month before war) that I've left Elbing completely undefended :p

I've made that mistake a couple of times in the past as well!:crazyeye: As well as not re-inforcing the German-French border and being invaded by the French upon decalration of war! This time I figured I should get those 2 sorted first (well the infrantry divisions are available for France though some are on the Czech border) before building up the attack force!

I never send troops to east Prussia, I'm of the opinion that if its attacked then my blitzkrieg isn't moving quickly enough :p

How many factories have been built so far? I usually end up building 2 in every German province, but I play on Normal.

I've started a German Arm. game to go with this, I just got the Sudenland, IC is 267, Army is 120's divisions (something like 5 mountain, 10 Tanks, 5 light Tanks, rest infantry) 20 air Squadrons, and right now I'm working on 20 something ships. It's Springtime in Germany. ;)

edit: Wait what happened to Austria?

IC is 219/174. This is at June 1st 1938. Hard difficulty appears to take away 20% of IC!

Wait what happened to Austria?
Will be dealt with in forthcoming update, probs post it up in an hour or so! (played though it, just need to type it up):)

Even on the hardest difficulty you should be able to get by without needing any additional factories - concentrate on your war machine and remember the industries will come through conquest.

Well I've been building a few but generally the idea is to move more in line with your train of thought regarding the matter as we move towards 1939.
