I've been given a funny Civ Trainer (shame on me!

). It allowed my ground units to "walk" on water

. And I built railway through the sea to link my different islands! Funny. But the most powerful tweak was boat on land. My battleship (and their fantastic firepower) could travel on the ground and they ignore terrain movement penalty (mountains or hills only cost one, like normal plain). That's great, assaulting Roma with Battleships and cruisers!

Are you referring to the Civilization saved game editor (available on the civ1 downloads page for this site)? If not, then you should know that this program has these options as well. And anyone else who wants to do this stuff can know that too.

My favorite for this kind of thing is to allow ground units to act as transports on land... I played one game where the Mech Infs were modified so that they had only 2 defense, 8 movement, and 0 attack but could hold 4 units. This made them great cuz u could load them up with riflemen and you'd still have mobile defense.

Hey, I didn't know that.
The fact is that I'm using a Civ Trainer, which modifies your Civ application file directly, instead of your saved games... So, you'd better have a backup of your original Civ app.
Anyway thanks for the tips.

Yeps, I forgot to tell you that I'm playing Macintosh version of Civ. It has enhanced graphics
