Release of v1.21 : just new biq files (SP and MP) that still need the main files and patch v1.2 (8th of June 2007). No need to redeonwload the patch/main files if you already had them.

Biq files will be updated in this post.

The "main files" folder is 14.6 MB and is needed to play. Extract it into Civilization3/Conquests/Scenarios

They can be found here :
https://www.mediafire.com/file/4duetx8233jpoqp/Last+Of+the+Mohicans.rar/file

Biq files posted below are updates of the biq files only. They all have a number. Always go for the higher figure. But they will only work with the "main files".

Minor update : v 1.21 (you just need to donwload/replace the biq files if you arelady installed the patch v 1.2). June 8, 2007
- Courreur des Bois : can now pillage and attack upped to 2 so they can be used in skirmishes. This is only true for the French to increase balance a little.
- War parties strength upped by one point (HP bonus), they are also given stealth attack vs militias, british regulars, grenadiers and highlanders and French fusiliers and "chasseurs". They are now also "invisble". They still cannot retreat but that gives them an edge at the hit and "hide" tactic. Their cost however has been increased (from 24 to 30 so + 25%) as they are now pretty strong.
- braves now have 2 MP, allowing them to retreat.
- SoL and MoW both enslave to frigates (unaccurate but more balanced).

Patch : v1.2 and biq files v1.2 (May the 31st)
- corrects icons for luxuries
- corrects movement penalties for ships, increased naval warfare
- capitals moved to Europe. Trading furs will take longer, capture at sea is possible
- war parties for all Indians
- corrects and rebalances various other things
- unit-spawning more frequent (more dynamic)
- corrects the tech-tree bug. Indians get a specialist

Patch : v1.0 (April the 25th, people who downloaded it on the 24th should redonwload it again as the new version definitely fixes the militia problem).Changes to the Indian cities gfx. End of tech-tree bug corrected. Corrected, added some pedia. Rebalanced some stats. Corrected the bug that prevented the English from trading early muskets to the Iroquois (which means nearly an automatical alliance between the two early on, later that's another issue).
You need to unzip the file right into Scenarios and choose "replace" when prompted. It also contains a new biq file v1.0.
Also added the MP version 1.0 to play in PBEM/MP (this one also solves the militia issue and adds some "barbarian" privateers).

Attention : updated to v0.99 (April the twentieth) to give names to most regiments. Also set up Merchant Harbors which prevents the related bug from happening. Also changed some stats (trappers, ships,...). Militias are also supposed to work now. The English have been changed to British and these have less troops near Fort Frontenac.
It still does not solve the tech bug for Indian civs though.

Correction in v0.98 : bugged tech costs. Also changed some English courreurs des bois into trappers (first all were courreur des bois then I created the trapper). Added another "English weapons" to trade with the Iroquois) and drag them into the war ! Also removed English grenadiers from the basic building list. Also made "France" coastal.

What is this scenario about ?

This scenario describes the events of the last French & Indian War, the North American name of what is known in Europe as the 7 years' war. The war actually started in the New World before it started in Europe.
It ended when France lost and accepted to surrender the "few acres of snow" of what is now a large part of Eastern Canada.

Civs :

- England
- France
- Iroquois
- Hurons
- Algonquins
- Other Indians

The most interesting to play are England, France and less so Iroquois and Hurons. Algonquins would come in as a good third choice. Other Indians are to be avoided.

Credits : there is a credit file in the main folder but it might not be as precise as it should be. So I thank
- Maisse Arsouye for the map
- Utahjazz, Kinboat, DPII, CivArmy, LizardmenRule! andOrthanc for unit creation (none from aaglo this time I believe !). I really thought Kinboat and Utahjazz Indians deserved a scenario.
- Rufus for improvements (most if not all).
- PedAlert for native Indian city gfx.

If I forgot someone, please tell me. This is not out of malice !

Gameplay :

The scenario does not cover a long length of time, hence a very short tech-tree. This tech-tree is actually a way of making some choices regarding the support the colonies can get from Europe.
More often than not you have a choice of getting one tech that brings directly a small support or research two techs on a row, the second one giving you a better support than what you get in the other branch.

Money is limited. Fighting for and in the colonies was costly and some resented that (France for instance). To make it worth (and to help your finances) you can look for furs to bring back to Europe (use your trappers or Coureurs des Bois to spot and carry them) which will help your treasury a lot. So don't spend all your units fighting early on.
Hint : most of the furs can be located along rivers... and of course they are in woodlands !

Extra: for those of you who enjoy the Last of the Mohicans, the Monro daughters, Magua and the last of the Mohicans are also present (in the Lake Champlain area). The Monro daughters act as treasure too !

Overseas colonies :

you will quickly understand most of your strong units are created in England or France (if you play a European power) and need to be ferried over which could lead to some interesting battles as well as maybe a complete blockade.
Be careful however, cannons have lethal sea bombardement.
French SOL are better than the English MoW but are not manned as well which makes them slower and less experienced (in HP too). Schooners are best used along coasts (they ignore the movement penalty of coasts that cost 3 moves) and along the St Laurent and in the Great Lakes where they can carry troops quickly as well as act as support.

Possible ideas for the future (suggestions welcome) :

- create some barbarian pirate ships to add another guy in the navy fight ?
- create other biq files with different "furs" locations ?
- replacing the forts by a kind of immobile unit ?

Some units in the pedia

You sure can. I will upload the biq by itself anyway so you can use it.

However it is a map by MaisseArsouye, not by me. He would let you use it I guess BUT don't give me credits for a work HE has done !

On the other hand it might be a bit tricky to use it for such a scenario as it does not really go south of Virginia.

This IS my DREAM SCENARIO. I was trying to create one earlier on but I did not get much interest. I hope this goes really well. If you need any help regarding places, names, placements, ideas (I have many for this), let me know.

Well with map tweaker I can enlarge it some to add Virgina and on South.

Well, as stated in the first post, I still consider it a "beta" so all help is welcome.
Of course I gave this scenario a special feel and I hope you will enjoy it and not mind it. But my choices could be slightly different from yours. Just a cautious way of saying I hope you won't get disappointed...

When will the main files be ready?

The link has been posted. It just happened I got it during my night sleep and... well it had to wait till this morning ! :)

Note : I already updated the biq so be sure not to use the one in the main file but the more recent one in the first post.

Well, you definitely can and it usually works fine when enlarging a map (try to shrink it when cities are already in place and you will understand your pain).

Well it is much more advanced than TianXia, definitely, so it should be more fun.
The English AI is usually doing OK laying siege on Quebec on Montreal directly from the sea/St Laurent. Artillery is used OK. But some things might still need some workaround.

BTW any chance you could know how to disable plague after a certain tech or improvement ?

I had changed the text to have smallpox as plague to hit some Indian villages but obviously I cannot have the same for European colonists...
