Patch 1.0.1.135

A truly unforgivable UI bug if ever there was one, as Diplomacy doesn't need to get more abysmal than it already is. In my current game, I met my second opponent, Alexander, and decided I would get some information about Augustus by trying out the "Let's discuss another leader" button.

"Do you take me to be weak-willed?!" came the reply.

Confused, I navigated back to the main screen and moused over the NEUTRAL icon to see what I did wrong.

"You demanded that Alexander not settle near your lands!"

I'm just in total shock right now. I didn't think it was possible for them to care even less than they did before. Between this, the extreme nerfs to the early social policy branches, and the apparent incompatibility with InfoAddict, I am forced to stop playing Civ V until a CivFanatics modder restores everything that the developers "fixed".

(steps down from soapbox)

I realized that I forgot to post a save, but I assumed that this would be a prevalent issue, so there was no need. But I guess I was wrong.

Here is the save: View attachment Diplomacy Bug.Civ5Save

Only one unit is still waiting for orders, a Scout just out of sight of French territory. Move the Scout one tile west to initiate diplomacy with Napoleon, then Choose Discuss > Let's discuss another leader. Napoleon will react as though you have told him not to settle near you, and mousing over "NEUTRAL" will display "You demanded that they not settle near your lands". You can also do this with Augustus, and he will react the same way (although he will be more compliant with your "demand").

List of mods I am using:
  • Attila's Mods (v. 9)
  • Balance - City Development (v. 9)
  • Balance - Combat (v. 16)
  • Balance - Diplomacy (v. 4)
  • Balance - Leaders (v. 7)
  • Balance - Policies (v. 8)
  • Balance - Terrain Improvements (v. 14)
  • City States of the World (v. 2)
  • City-State Diplomacy Mod 2.0 (v. 5)
  • Growth Notifications (v. 1)
  • InfoAddict (v. 7)
  • Unofficial Patch III (v. 29)

We regret that we aren't able to evaluate or confirm bugs in modded save files. We can't rule out the possibility that one of the mods is causing the problem (especially if the mod hasn't been updated post-patch). If you can reproduce this problem in in an unmodded version, we'd be glad to look at it.

I had the same problem, running Attilla Mods and the Terra Incognita map script. I'm trying a new game using the updated InfoAddict v.9 and nothing else.

I'll see how it goes- it'll decide for me whether I'm playing a cultural/scientific or warlord game.
:mischief:

I should mention that after disabling InfoAddict (v. 8), the problem was fixed. And I happened to notice that the buttons that show up under Discuss had completely different text, and one was even missing. So, that's that. This thread can be locked.

I've changed the thread title for now. It's still possible that it's a bug that only presents itself with mods - that can happen occasionally. Have you checked with the mod creators whether it can be fixed?
