Military Request for HUGE sum to complete Pike Upgrades

I'm requesting from the Domestic Department the total of 1920 gold to complete the Pike upgrades (16 pikes remaining). I posted this poll because I felt such a large allocation required public approval and Eyrei gave me the "okay" to post this poll.

Currently we have 4095 gold in the Treasury, which is why I think this request is now appropriate. This will leave us with 2175 gold left over. Including the 1000 gold minimum that leaves 1175 gold left accessable for further allocation. I don't think there will be another request like this in the near future (at least not until we get Mech. Inf.)

I'm also including 1/4th incriments in the poll options, but I'd really prefer to upgrade ALL our pikes now.

We have the money now, so I think we should finish upgrading our military. It's a disgrace to tour the country and see units still drilling with outdated weaponry.

half, as we are not going to go to war with greece as of yet, an upgrade of our outlying cities to pikemen is realistic, but our internal cities do not require it yet.

I do not have Greece specifically in mind. We have a great surplus and it's rediculus to have pikes when we're approaching Tanks. Anyway, the spare infantry could go to reinforce other positions in the case of an Emergency, unlikely as such an emergency might be.

I voted for half, also. I believe we should also concentrate on artillery with the other half and the infrastructure with the rest.

I voted none but think we should keep a hefty gold reserve just in case we are attacked. If we can avoid war we can recruit newer units from scratch and disband the older ones. Our gold could then be used to fund our Cultural Assault Program (CAP).

I voted for all of it. We MUST upgrade now. If somebody makes a quick strike on us now we could loose many of our units that should have been upgraded - then we would have to start building them over again, which could lead us to lose a war.
