I'm quite excited by the succession game idea now that I've played once... So I thought of starting one more.
I really don't know if this will work since two other games are on.
We'll see...

I woud like the game to be on Deity or Emperor. And have 7 civs.

I tend to like premade maps but if you guys prefer custom it's ok a long as it's large...

I think that 20 turns each would be ok for a large map...

So who's in?

I'm in, but only if you have Classic version. That's the problem - when you save in MGE, you can't reload in Classic, so you better have to decide that first. Besides, I can't play until late August.

normal or big;
7 civs;
emperor (deity is also ok, i guess);
restless tribes barbs;
random map.

If you decide to do MGE I could be in, although I'll be gone on vacation for a few days next week. My preferences:

random map
Emperor (okay with Deity)
Raging hordes (restless tribes okay)
6 or 7 civs
Some guarantee that the game will finish!! I would propose a time limit (like one week?) to play your turns and send the game along, or you get automatically skipped. Send saved game to next in line AND the host of the game, so if someone disappears, we still have the saved game. What do you think?

Actually, I was thinking of starting a Zulu succession game after I got back from vacation (since the first one never finished), but if this goes maybe I'll just play this one instead. Not good to have too many succession games going at the same time

I'm in, if it isn't too late. I won't be able to play on weekends, though.

But there is also Ancient1 and a friend of his. They contacted me from ICQ so they haven't posted here yet.
Anyway since we already are five I'll start the game today and we'll see about the others. Anciwent1 is in for sure.

Leowind you are right about the time limit. Let's say we'll try to post our game in not more than 4-5 days.
Now if there is a problem don't hesitate to change places with the player who is after you.
About the Zulu succession game Leowind it would be nice (I'd be the first one to join) if you started one just after cornmasters SC#3 is finished; since I am participating I think we should finish by late August.

Look I really find AIs custom maps stupid. But I don't like traditional premade neither (world, europe, etc...).
So here's what I propose: Let's choose a real-world map but not a known one

Exploring is possible on those maps since they are not so well known. But the difference with custom maps is that these are good maps; carefully made.

Think about it.

If you don't like them and prefer custom just say it. We'll play custom.

WOW! after a couple of days of silence, there are so many players turning up!

Well, Deity is fine with me, but I woulndn't mind if you made something easier (as I am not a very good player myself).

About the map:

Well, I don't really like the first one, because there is a lot of land so we'll probably be fighting with someone all the time and that is what I don't really like.

I like the second one, cause it has Lithuania in it

However if I was really to choose, I would choose one from the last three. Probably North Pole map.

The North Pole map is fine, and although I was against premade maps, I think I might have changed my mind.

I would want to play deity...and say "don´t worry about a thing" to those who feel not up to the task.

The COOL thing about succession is that we have good\bad\and ugly players of the game...each rulers reign is different and thus the shape of the civilisation develops a more "organic" look.

As for the maps...I would like a world map...if we were to play the artic region only then why not play a succession of Alex the Magnificients "conquest of the North"...that starts you with one settler etc...custom for the region and you build up your viking tribe! THAT WOULD BE INTERESTING.

To sum up...maybe a scenario startup game if we want a polar experience (or local in terms of world geography...I will put a selection up tomorrow) AND don´t worry newbies etc about mucking things up in your reign...it will be good for the story and give the better players a well-deserved challenge.

It should be good!

The Arctic and Baltic Sea/Scandinavia maps seem to offer the best mix of exploration by land and sea. I would vote for either of them.

Well I shure can last 10 turns on Emperor without loosing (Or at least I hope so )

And I think it should be good too.

By the way what version of civ are we using?
Classic, FW, or MGE? (I have All of them )
