Part 1: The Gambit
Around the year 4000 B.C. a wandering tribe called the Denduronians decided to consolidate their various peoples along a river to prosper forevermore. They elected a leader, called Alder and erected the Bedoowan City in honor of his clan.
Alder dicided the city would flourish only if it had able hands to improve the surrounding lands, so he built a Worker to set forth and begin building farms. Current historians generally agree that at approximately 3600 B.C. the Denduronians became skilled bricklayers and masons, allowing defensive walls to be built around their capital, Bedoowan City.
At one point it is suggested that a band of warriors, closely related to the founders of Bedoowan City, were killed in the wilderness, leaving much land unexplored.
Then, around 3360 B.C. evidence was found that would suggest that the Denduronians created a Mystic religion,, although it never became a major part of Denduronian society, monuments were still erected in various cities for the mystics who taught it.
Then, in cross-examining records of the time, it is possible to be reasonably assured that in 3160 B.C. the Denduronians encountered a scout belonging to Winn Farrow, establishing permanent contact between the two civilizations.
In 2960 B.C. another religion was created, this time focusing on meditation, it was called Buddhism and became a major religion in Bedoowan City.
Shortly thereafter, in 2680 B.C. a heirarchy of priests was created in Bedoowan City, allowing temple to be bbuilt, although none ever were in the city.
Then, circa 2170 B.C. carvings of slavery in Bedoowan society begin to appear, coinciding with the advent of Bronze Working technology that allowed large forests to be cleared in a relatively short amount of time.
Alder, then dissatisfied with only one city, commisioned another group of settlers, now unanimously called "Denduronians" to go and build a new city on the sea, safely nestled among hills and a small forest. They called the settlement Milago Village, as many of those who were sent to found it could trace their lineage back to the hard working Milago farmers.
Around 1570 B.C. Writing was introduced to the empire, and knowledge slowly spread as Libraries were built to house large quantities of books and charts, consolidating information to speed along technological progress.
While these technologies were being discovered and spreading, a temple, called The Oracle, was constructed in Bedoowan City, it is known that at this time many were left in the streets hungry as most of the farmers were sent to work in the mines to facilitate faster construction of the Oracle. This temple did, however bring prosperity to the Denduronians, as it atracted many wise men to it, and their learnings were distilled to discover the interdimensional travel technology of Flumes.
End of Part 1
This is an opening gambit I'm quite fond of with Denduron, getting Masonry to build walls and run an engineer while teching to get Oracle for Flumes. After the Oracle is built, a Great Engineer soon follows and helps build...other wonders. You'll just have to stay tuned to find out what
