Civ 5: Civilizations/Leaders Wanted!

Thanks so much! I think you're right that 'We Love the King' should do it, not Golden Ages. I think it's funny though that that came out, because traditionally Argentina and Brazil have been competitors (in a friendly sort of way.) It was unintentional, but it makes sense if you think about it. Specialists are very powerful if you have a lot of them, because they provide raw yields that can be hard to otherwise get. For example, if your city is in an endless grassland with no production sources, then you up your population to get engineers, and suddenly your city is productive. The same goes for culture, science, and money. So, I will quickly change the Golden Age to 'We Love the King' day, and thanks so much everyone. Just a side note, they need to add something in so someone playing Eva Peron doesn't get 'We love the King' day.

What has Hungary done to justify its inclusion to CiV? What technological advancements have they pioneered? What makes their culture stand above all the rest in any time period to make them a "civilization"? Basically, why should they?

Not trying to be a downer here, just making sure that there's a reason that Firaxis should put in the weeks of work to make this happen. Many people wanting it doesn't make it right to put it in :)

Or in other words, why is Songhai in and not Mali? Why is Dido the leader of Carthage and not Hannibal? Why is Khmer still not in or did Siam replace it? Why isn't Qin Shi Huang the leader of China? Where's Pericles? Brennus? What about Ivan the Terrible? Hungary's inclusion, though I would love to see it, is quite slim. I thought there were going to be multiple leaders; turns out I was wrong. But still, I support Hungary

What's the prospects looking like for new DLC post-BNW?

Perhaps it's already too late, but if not Civ5 then in a future Civ6 we wait Hungary included. ;)

If your read the petition text from the beginning to the end, you wouldn't ask these questions. It's no problem, though. :) Many people don't know Hungary which is really a pity. A 1000 years old nation which gave culture, science, arts and architectural wonders to the world is almost obligatory to be included.

As you've said, there are no multiple leader's in Civ 5 which is a horrible mistake, but the Hungarian community already proposed several possible leaders such as Stephen I, Matthias Corvinus, Bela III, Bela IV, etc.

I'd say that it's quite probable that we'll have DLC. If they have 7, like the last one, it would round the civilizations off to a nice 50.

Hmm, interesting. Personally, I don't believe that we could get Hungary to Civ 5, it's kind of late now, still there are possibilities to get to Civ 6 in the future. :) oh, and special thanks for your support! :goodjob:

To everybody: feel free to ask, as long as it isn't an argument. Thank you!

What is the point of adding hungry to the game and not another civilization? This forum is not a room for blind nationalism and such. I find it interesting that people from Eastern Europe are still so involved with all these nationalistic crap.

Moderator Action: Such trolling is not allowed here.

Though your comment is obviously a troll comment and it is provocative at best, I'll remain civil. ;)

First, there's no "point" of adding Hungary to the game. What would be the point of adding for example the Venetian Republic to the game? They are long gone, after all. See? The question itself is pointless at all. Probably you don't like or at least don't support Hungary, it's no problem by the way. But you have to admit, that the game would be more colorful and diverse with more civilizations. And Hungary is definitely a choice that Firaxis can't ignore for long. I think that's a rational point of view, don't you agree? :D

Secondly, it's no "blind nationalism". I don't where you come from, but you definitely don't know what does it mean to be 'ignored' forever. Not because you deserve to be ignored, but because of the ignorance of others. Since the beginning, whole Central (yes, Central and not Eastern) Europe has been a blind spot for Firaxis games. But now, the Polish earned their place to Civ, which inspired us to start this petition. Before you say, no it's not jealousness, Hungarians and Polish people are historically friends and it is clearly visible nowadays as well.

I think I answered your comment well, if you have any questions, feel free to ask! :)

Well, we do value our history and culture and we are more than willing to share it with others. If that is nationalistic crap to you, perhaps you need to reevaluate the term nationalism.

If you disagree about a certain individuals action, you don't need to be insulting to him and most of all not to insult a whole part of the world.

Although I don't know were you come from, I suggest instead of insulting those nations that preceded today's newer nations, you try to learn their history, because if you live somewhere in the West, whether you know it or not you are a direct descendant of one of those old nations of eastern Europe either genetically or culturally.

To the OP, petition signed. From Greece with love!

Signed, in support of a new expansion after Brave New World.

Thanks! :)

Wow, thanks! :) Especially for protecting us! ;)

What is the point of including Germany, France, England, Greece, Russia, Babylon and others? Nobody tells about nationalism but you.

I am pleased to know that Poland is going to be in next expansion. Because I came from Poland. I believe that it is a general rule, and so, most of the people would like to see their countries as well.

Besides, Poland and Hungary have been in friendly relations for most of the time in history, I would like to play together in Civ too.

That is why I signed and I hope it will be effective.

Best regards from Poland. :)

PS. Thanks for Báthory István, he was a great leader. :king:

Many many dzieki! :D

I hope there's DLC after BNW. I would love to see Hungary added, as well as other popular suggestions like Gran Colombia, Khmer, Australia, etc.

Yeah, it would be really kind of them if they made an expansion based on their popularity here on CFC, but unfortunately, it's pretty unlikely.

I'm Polish, living in the USA, and I say that Hungary is very deserving. Some civs like the Khmer might be more deserving, but Hungary should really be in.

Signed to support my central european brothers and sisters :)
