Civ BTS 3.19 crashing?

Excuse me if this is a really basic question, but I can't get BTS version 3.19 from Civ IV disc "complete" to successfully launch, unless I use Rosetta to open. I am using a mac mini with a 2.4 ghz intel duo processor and OSX 10.6.8. I would really like to run without Rosetta ..... it's painfully slow.

Civ IV works fine, from the same disc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I'm currently in a PBEM game with some friends over the holidays ...... they will not be amused if I hold up the game

What happens when you try to launch it as a native app? If you get a crash report, the first 100 lines or so might give a clue.

It looks as if it's just reading an XML file to initialise the game. I can't imagine why that would be a problem. Have you tried reinstalling BtS?

Yes, tried re-install a couple of times ..... same result.
