Civ for Alpha's

I have been playing pitboss games for a few months now.
Is it just me or is the community made of a bunch crying beta's?
Prove me wrong I am thinking of starting a pitboss game on Hamachi for BTS.
All default settings. All Random.
With the following exceptions.
Choose Civ.
Choose Religion.
Marathon Game Speed.
Shuffle Map.
Double turns allowed.
Early rushing allowed.
NO CRYING/COMPLAINING IN THE FORUMS OR ELSE WHERE.
The above infraction will get you kicked.
18 hr turns.
1 hr mandatory play on Sunday.

I would join if it was normal speed and the sunday play time was at a decent time.

Given that i am capable of regulating my logins(slowrolling playing first or very early in the turn as needed) I would not have a problem with a game where activity actually matters. I can't stand maraton though. I would love no huts no barbs but playing with either is fine i guess. Also why isn't chosing civs allowed?

So why marathon? Also what is default map? Marathon means this game will take insane amount of time even with play sessions. You should still specify map type, size and number of players.

I agree. Marathon means several months of boredom.

I like to join. and i agree with the posts above: why marathon speed. thats means tons of boring turns where nothing happens.
and 1 question: what does this mean? 1 hr mandatory play on Sunday?
my english isnt that good.

it means we'll play 1 hr on sunday where everyone is on taking turns at the same time.

I agree at first that it might take a while to get things going.
How ever I disagree that it will boring after that.
Marathon exposes your actual strategy more then other speeds.
If you make good choices it will benefit you longer and if you make bad ones you wont find yourself in the game for long.
The one hour Sunday play will get things going.
Also I was not expecting a huge group.

So the number of players depends on how many are willing to play then? But what map type we looking at? hemispehres? big and small? mirror? ring? pangea? Seriously though matathon makes things way too slow. I cant even manage to play epic in sp, how i would hold out with marathon in pbs... Seriously though i think we should look for 6-10 players or something. I won't play if it remains marathon though.

I totally get you don't want to bored.
I don't want to be bored either my friend.
I admit it is an experiment if it don't work we blur after a month.
What do you have to lose 5 minutes a day?
You are already doing that every 15 minutes of TV you watch with commercials.
If you are into Strategy Marathon is where it is at though.
Nothing is better then having a master strategy and watching it unfold.

I m not playing on marathon speed too. and i think if u stick with marathon you end up playing v AI only. LOL

your assessment of this community is that they don't have exactly the same preferences as yourself? Thats not very strange since we all are different... If you changed the gamespeed to something reasonable i am sure you would get someone to play with...

All I am saying is broaden your horizons my friend.
No one has even tried a Marathon on Multiplayer.
Take a chance try something different.
I don't have to host a game.
But if I do I want to try something different.
Nothing personal what ever your choice is.

francis if you organized this with a longish sit down session to clear out the beginning (say 6 hrs on a friday night then perhaps...)
