Commonly Used Acronyms in the Civ Community

An acronym I have seen lately is REX or REXed. What on earth does it mean?

Rapid EXpansion. It's a sort of catchall term for an early (and rapid) expansion followed by consolidation, either by capturing cities or settling lots. So long as you don't overdo it and are in a position to shore up the economy afterwards, the short-term economic slowdown can be easily made up for in long-term advantage.

AYBABTU--we all know what that is, right?

I actually found that off a link from a link of the Civilization III Wikipedia page, and the spelled-out phrase is in the postgame when you lose in CivIII, so it's not as far out as it first appears. I don't think the acronym is nearly as common as the full version in the Civ community, though.

YKWIM - You Know What I Mean. Used when you keep misspelling stuff. The only problem is that it is frequently misspelled.
YGTBKM - You've Got To Be Kidding Me. For times a Warrior defeats your Infantry three times in a row.

OK, now that I've got the funny ones out of the way (some other good ones in there, too, btw, CWFMCTF is :thumbsup: and MIAS,IATAMN is :lol:), I noticed no one has mentioned the acronyms for the popular mods. I'll start out:

RoC = Rhye's of Civilization
RaR = Rise and Rule
DyP = Double your Pleasure
FFH = Fall from Heaven

edit: LAnkou got FFH first on page 2.

I think spies was inadvertently misspelled in a post and became pies. Funny if you saw it. :lol:
