Community GMR Game

So for the french selection process.
I guess we need somone neutral to collect the lists. Woud'nt be clever to post it here one after the other, would it?

Perhaps CanuckSoldier would be willing to help? I'd suggest an admin of this forum, but they might be seen as biased towards a certain team....

Edit: none of your links are working for me, Ralfi.

I think we're just waiting for Kiffe, as the organiser, to prod things along? Not sure where the other teams are at, but we've been discussing our civ picks and wondering when that process will start, and exactly how it'll work.

Hi,

sorry for the delay.
I explain the process in the dedicated thread of this forum. And Yes, we can start selecting civs. We already have our list.

But Once again, we need someone independant to receive the list and make the selection.

Do not hesitate if you have any question on the process.

thanks

Some questions remains:

1) what is the turn order ? I think it is not a big question.

2) Who start ? Same, The 1st has a small advantage. We can randomize this maybe.

3) Do we finally use GMR ? On, this point , French and CFC are in favour of that, but German does not. What does polish think ?

Hey,
civforum.de is ok with using the GMR. I was just doing some advertisement for a platform i personally like better. Unlimited number of games without paying is a pretty good argument.
We are already used to GMR and expecting the game to run with it.
Let's just roll the dice for N° 1 and 2.

I think we can look to the worldtime to find out who starts

So thats everyteam can play in his primetime

Sorry my english is horrible but i hope you understand me

at least I did. It does make sense. Approved.:goodjob:

I think I understand. The question is, does the Polish team live in Poland, the German in Germany, the French in France? Because in that case the turn order is pretty simple.

On the other hand, if we take a day or two to take our turns (due to needing to wait for input), does it really matter?

If I understood what you meant. Otherwise, I'm lost.

Looks like everyone understood fine.

My only caveat on GMR--or maybe it's civ 5 itself--is that a lot of players seem to experience game crashes on loading up saves, especially later in the game when the files get bigger, and in my experience, more with G&K games.

If it is civ 5 and not GMR, then it doesn't really matter what platform we use. It would really suck though if the game got stuck after a year of playing...though with only four players on a small map and limited CS, these saves will probably be easy to load.

I guess it's not GMR. I play games on GMR and our Battlefield platform. Never had any issues. Problems come up with missed patches, ...
With 4 players we could even organize this via e-mail directly. I guess the polish guys will be fine with GMR because they are at least using it for PBEMS.
Just hope we get this started before the next addon ;-)

So, did we decide ruins would be on, or do we need to vote?

And Pangaea / Pangaea-plus?

What is the plus? Bigger?

Plus seems to put the CS on outer islands, or something? I actually think that's worse if that's what it actually does... though on Tiny Pangaea the CS always get tundra/snow, and then there is no decision to conquer or ally, just ally.

Yeah, Pangaea Plus has CS on islands off the main Pangaea landmass.

So if I sum up :

Closed points
1) everyone seems ok to randomize turn order and first player : 3 team in Europe and one team around the globe : no possibility to optimize turn order. The J, can you help us another time ? :)
2) Pangea map instead of Pangea + : CS in mainland.

Still in discussions

1) referre question. I think council of referree : 4 team leader + 1 neutral referee could be a wise choice.

In civfr.com, we will ask someone to share a GMR account with all of us. You just need to give the GMR key, replace it in the desktop add, and you can download it very quickly.

I hope we can start soon.

I'd in general first suggest another thread, with all possible options listed, so that it's easier to get an overview (about the general rules, I mean).

I should roll a dice?

Makes sense :).
The question is if someone from e.g. Apolyton would be willed to help out as the neutral referee.
