Note that in Early episodes of Space Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers in the US). the 'Wave Motion Engine' is a kind of tachyon generator. in later episodes (and retconnings beginning with Leiji Matsumoto's efforts in the late 90s when he was owning the franchise.) it is 'Transdimensional Engine' (Warp Engine), the rebooted '2199' gives a full name 'Dimensional Wave Motion Engine'. the term 'Jigen Hadou' technology however did exist in Galaxy Express 999 as a kind of missiles used by Galaxy Railways Securyt Defense Forces (as 'track clearing devices' ).
