All Good Things Must Come To An End.
Hollywood is finished in Beijing.
Off-topic but I've heard the recurring statement from other Chinese
that the mainland Chinese film industry (not Hong Kong/Taiwan or Singapore/Malaysia)
is kind of lacking in comparison to some contemporaries in the region
like South Corea & Japan. I would have to disagree, and I think they're
often comparable and better in certain areas, however I will say
that Chinese music (especially mainland & Taiwanese music) is pretty
far behind and not very innovative whatsoever, except in a couple underground scenes.
(I guess that's why we got beaten to Graceland by the Turks, huh?
)
Ethiopia is higher on the scoreboard than France, Germany & Spain.
They're even advanced enough to trade me a tech I need.
In fact, they're in the Top 5! Only in my games, only in my games.
CERN Research Complex is DoC's replacement for Oxford University.
It obviously more or less does the same thing except it's way
back in the tree for the sake of balance.
The plague strikes all over the world. I don't think I mentioned this before,
but in DoC, plague cannot kill units. It just severely reduces their strength.
Plagues are often some of the best time windows to strike at a foe,
so utilize it to your advantage (and bring medics of course).
Oh, and we get the Courthouse event; we pick the +1 Gold option of course.
I have to admit, this game was practically perfect with the selection
of Events I was handed (I still can't get over the perfection of the Federal Reserve event).
It's time to die, Bismarck! You've been a thorn in my side for too long!
We assist our Ottoman allies by swarming across the Western Front,
in an ironic, reverse French blitzkrieg against the Germans.
Not a moment too soon too, the Turks were on the warpath towards
the Germans' final cities.
It looks like they cleaned house pretty good.
We use our Infantries for the FIRST TIME in this entire game.
Ponies are still best unit. Seriously guys, use ponies.
Mobility is key in RFC/DoC and you don't want to be wasting
time lugging around slow siege units.
Well, I guess you can get away with it in Epic/Marathon speed,
but Normal speed demands quick moving, units.
We capture Kiel, by the way.
Tainan is built in Chilegentina.
Haha, yes. I know. This is approximately
the border between them, so why not?
Ohai, Mongolia.
Victory. +1 if you read that in Helen's voice.
Notice how Germany capitulated to the Turks,
but collapsed on the same turn. Now the Mongols
will have to fight the Sino-Turkish Alliance on their own.
But all is well in the world. And the world speaks Mandarin!
Corea & Japan are joined together with China in Pan-East Asian solidarity.
England, Portugal, the Netherlands, America & France have been soundly
defeated and subjugated by the cavalry of the Chinese.
Italy develops peacefully under the Qin's banner.
Scandinavia is a backwards brew of anarchy and chaos as independent states squabble over minor things.
Spain & Russia are loyal vassals of the Chinese.
Greece is a newborn, but weak state, fighting for its very survival against their former masters, the Turks.
Although talks are being held under the table that the Chinese might consider helping the
Greeks if they are willing to part with the secret art of making
gyros.
And last but not least, the Germans, who fought to the bitter end to remain the last
sovereign European state, have collapsed and fallen into ignominy.
There is no state left in the world capable of putting up any meaningful resistance
against the Chinese, save for the Turks, who are close friends and are dealing with their own issues in the form of the Greeks.
So it's time for Qin Shi Huang to retire to his palace with his harem.
Isabella, Catherine & Girls Aloud are waiting.
The ponies, are put in charge of the government in his place,
for their years of service under the banner of the SCO.
They set up the New Lunar Republic as the successor state to the SCO.
Post-game commentary coming up soon.
