Game crashes when trying to load a game with mods

my game crashes each and every time I try to load a modded game.i tried to look for solutions here,but I didn't find anything or what I found didn't work.
most of the posts I have seen about this topic cite that a runtime error window comes up,however,in my case civ just closes and I find myself looking at the desktop.i have tried verifying my game cache and I have deleted the cloud saves (or atleast made the conflict window come up,so I think I did delete them),but the issue persists.
any solutions ?

When you say "try to load a modded game," are you trying to load a save file for a game that uses/used particular mods, or are you trying to start a new game with a particular set of mods?
