How do you increase maximum cities?

hi, everyone. A while ago I tested a map I made, and it had 24 civilizations, on a 256x map that I made. My question is, in playing it, I had a problem with maximum cities... how do I increase the maximum number of cities, and what should I do about corruption and science increase changes? Thanks again.

Oh, no. x.x No wonder I couldn't find it.... well, I guess I had better make the map into little islands then, instead? lol. Thanks for telling me!

zulu is correct that the game maxes out at 512 cities, however Muchembled has recently posted a program which will supposedly circumvent this limit while you are playing, for PTW. I haven't tried it myself and standard caveats about programs which access other programs' memory apply; but if you want to try it, check out http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57158

indeed, you can't change it + the running time between turns is very long when you have that much cities, no fun at all..
