Since some people have already posted numbers, I'll go ahead and do the same . Last I heard it was the 10th most populous country in the world and the most populous in Africa, according to a National Geographic map on my wall that I've memorized. I think this map is seven or eight years old and says it is in the 90 millions, so now I bet it has grown to 105-110 million. (Although my disfunctional mouse made me vote for the 60-99million option )
note: estimates for this country explicitly take into account the effects of excess mortality due to AIDS; this can result in lower life expectancy, higher infant mortality and death rates, lower population and growth rates, and changes in the distribution of population by age and sex than would otherwise be expected (July 2001 est.)
