Maybe a Polar Bear or a Narwhal too, those are pretty significant in Inuit beliefs IIRC
I cannot argue with that.
There has been so much progress from this thread. Great job from everyone.

Thanks, turningmachine! It really isn't that difficult. The hardest part is probably just finding good images to use and deciding where to place them in the image. (And knowing when to back off and stop throwing things into it -- I think I'm on the border of that with the image above or maybe even took a step over it, lol.)
Maybe one of these days I'll write a little tutorial for those that are at least somewhat knowledgeable of Photoshop (because I rather not have to get into and explain every little detail). Maybe even others can teach "me" a few things too -- I'm just an amateur.
I'll post the file up too (if i can and it's not too big) so that others can "pick the bones" and grab styles that they need, check out settings, and/or see how things were done. I'll make sure I tidy the layers up a little bit before doing so.
Also, I've been a bit busy, but I've been working on an alternate version to the one posted above whenever I get a chance. This new one has the land masses oriented the traditional way. It was irking me a bit while working on the first one, and still is, but I was too reluctant to start over. But, after Pouakai pointed it out too, it made me want to give it another try. Though, by starting it over and not figuring things out and learning as I go along, I optimized a few things in the file and made it easier to use and better looking.
I also found an "epic" image to incorporate into this new map!
How can I make this compatible with CivUp?
