Is CIV5 worth my money?

I have spent way to much time clicking just one more turn with this game.
I don't know if this comment was meant positive or negative, I guess the latest.
One of the biggest problems of civ5, and civ world too, is slowness.
Not only the software itself, but also gameplay.
In previous civ versions you could speed up gathering a required type of resource (gold, science, culture, production, etc)
by playing with the sliders or changing civics.
In civ5 you simply have to wait, because of the small numbers + small percentages and the inflexible policy system.

To the OP :
Is civ5 worth your time? Yes and no.
No, because if you like to think, to have multiple meaningful choices and to make decisions,
but most of all to see some serious progression, your brain you'll be bored really soon.
Yes, if previous civ versions have consumed a lot of your lifetime, try civ5 and your addiction is over.

-I don't know for you, but if your goal is to beat deity and that's all, well you will probably finish any civ game under a month of play.

-If your goal is to achieve a victory only, you can take any civ game and beat the AI anytime.

If your goal is to play against humans, play civ4 or civ5 and have fun.

-If your goal is to take every turn at thinking what is optimal, you will find your wish in this game like it was in civ4.

Civ5 is not different than civ4. You have to abuse the AI and extract every juice from them to achive your goal. Mechanisms are completely different, but the essence is the same.

Civ5 has the most complicated diplo system ever made in this serie. You may be pissed by what you see in the beginning but there is some ways to manage this beast properly.

I liked civ4, i played this game for 4 years from 2006 to 2010. I played 1 year offline and 3 years online. And i prefer civ5.

Unfortunately, these 2 games still have a lot of flaws. Flaw = AI abuse

We have not seen the best civ game yet(if it will exist one day).

Worth your money? Certainly!

Yes.
It's not civ4 but it's a fun game to play.
I play them both, so don't uninstall civ4...
