Is It Time For At Least Some To "Woman Up And Disarm"?

Well, once you've killed someone with a hammer, it's no longer a tool, either.

Sure it is, a tool used to kill. Killing is a perfectly good function of a tool.

A gun is a tool designed to accurately shoot a projectile at a rapid speed at it's target.

Which is useful for killing (amongst other things), thus making it a tool.

I was being sarcastic... we're in total agreement.

Absolutely... killing someone is a task, not a pleasant one, but a task nevertheless... Hopefully we won't have to define task or pleasant now.

Uh..Akka...weapons ARE tools.

I mean really....granted they are more complex than say a wrench or a screwdriver, but they are still tools nontheless. You ranting otherwise isnt going to change that simple fact.
Okay, let's formulate it differently as you seem intent to ignore the actual point :

Weapons are things that are designed to kill or harm. Their use for anything else is collateral and secondary in the design.

There is nothing unreasonable about someone saying that (s)he doesn't want to have something designed to kill in his/her house, be it as a matter of principle of a matter of safety.
Even if it's never actually used to kill people in the end.

Is it clearer now ?

Sure, but up until this point, you wouldnt even recognize their secondary uses. Now you are. Isnt that progress?

Yes, but thats silly for the simple reason there are literally dozens of things which can kill inside a home. Its based upon an unreasonable fear and emotion. In responsible hands a gun is no more likely to harm you than a slick shower floor, a kitchen knife, or the claw hammer in your tool box.

Even if it's never actually used to kill people in the end.

Its always been clear. Still wrong, but sure, its clear.
