New players start with 1000 as well, but maybe you can win a great underdog pick and catch up?

I still have completely no idea what this is supposed to mean, but I picked Cyrus for winner, Boudica for second, and Kublai for first to die, so that is 500+600+700=1800? So now I have 2800 points? Yay?

At +500, if Cyrus wins, you get 500 credits for every 100 credits you bet on Cyrus for 1st, in addition to whatever credits you bet on him. For example, 350 on Cyrus for 1st and Cyrus wins then you get 1750 plus your original 350 for a total of 2100 credits. If Cyrus loses, you get nothing! Everyone starts with 1,000 so you can place bets adding up to that specifying leaders and 1st, 2nd, or FTD as @elmurcis has done above.

I think Cyrus and Churchill have odds to be rolled early by Mongolia thus taking odds on Cyrus in both scenarios. Also I think Boudica (the biggest warmongers) runs over Roosevelt (the games biggest weenie) very early and crashes her economy leading to a 2nd place finish based solely on population.
