I was seeking opinions on small changes to the XML - I'm sure others have played with these settings.
Two items have been annoying me:
1) Tradition seems over-powered - there is too high of an opportunity cost to choose another early policy tree
2) The AI has little appetite for early war, even when given a tempting target.
I was thinking of modifying the XML to address these:
1) To tone down the tradition tree, change legalism to free monuments only. Change the finisher to a free aqueduct in the capital only (and keep the growth bonus).
2) I'm open to ideas here to make early war more enticing. I was thinking of decreasing city defense strength and/or city attack range - would that just make it easier for the player and not change AI behavior?
I play sporadically (constraints of job and family) so I don't have the free time to do much trial and error. If it helps, I play typically on the King difficulty level. I am not a modder, but have tinkered with the XML settings.
