Orbis 1.0 Bug Thread

Kinda skimmed through this forum. Not sure if there is a fix or I did something wrong. But most of my save games won't load they just CTD. Is there something that I can do to fix this ?

Did you updated from 1.0a to 1.0b ? This patch breaks saves.
If you can start a new game, save it and than load it, but cannot load older saves this might be a cause.

I am not sure what in orbis is causing the crash as the game never full loads. My wife & I will get into the lobby together (playing over a lan) either she or I will setup the game & then launch it, no matter what my computer gets the civ 4 has crashed popup. Yet this only happens with orbis, if we load up FfH 2, or even reg civ we can play together just fine no crashes. I have ene just started a multiplayer game solo & as soon as I hit launch my game crashes out. (we are both using the same current, all patches version of orbis, have uninstalled, tried just 1.0 & same error) Any ideas?

I have the same problem after patching to B. Even games started with patch B generally CTD on loading the save.

Orbis seems resetting some settings in CivilizationIV.ini that it shouldn't be. I am not sure when it does this, it doesn't seem to be every time it's open. Perhaps after I start a new game or a custom game? A few settings in particular are very frustrating to have reset randomly, and I'm sure you can see why.

Code:
; The maximum number of autosaves kept in the directory before being deleted.
MaxAutoSaves = 10

; Specify the number of turns between autoSaves. 0 means no autosave.
AutoSaveInterval = 1

; Enable the logging system
LoggingEnabled = 1
Logging will be reset back to 0, but the other two entries are just deleted entirely from the INI.

Also, the Ljosolfar Adept causes the combat crash as well. Guess we all missed that one.

Two Dao things:

- Conjurers can learn level 3 spells.
- Hermits upgrade to Shugenja, so you can't build them in cities with Grove, but they are also only way to get Conjurers.

Conjurers can summon "normal" elementals. Tier 3 spells summons elder elementals. I believe, it is not a bug

possible bug:
1. warrior monks (Dao only unit) have disciple unit class.
2. Alter of Luonnatar gives disciple units certain amount of free experience points
3. warrior monks do not get this xp

Three Questions:
1. Are Cultist civs supposed to be able to research religion founding techs?
2. Are the Mechanos supposed to be able to recruit adepts through the Guild of the Nine?
3. Boris does not have the Hero promotion. Should he?

I was mistaken

The possible bug is: disciple units build in other cities than city with Altar of Luonnatar do not gain bonus xp. (and the description of altar says otherwise)

@Jarrema - That is not a bug. The XP bonus granted by the Altar is only given to units built in that city, just like the various military national wonders (Military Academy, Castra Legionis, etc.).

Daveishere: In this situation, the description of Altar is bugged: it directly sais, that xp bonus is given in all cities

@Jarrema - I don't know what version you are running, but the Altar of the Luonnotar English text for Orbis 1.0b does not state that the bonus is for all cities. If you are running another language, or an older version of Orbis, the description could be inaccurate.

Right. In Civ, when wonder provides bonuses for all cities, it says so directly (for example, Form of the Titan). Otherwise, it works only in city it's build.

I'm running version 1.0 patch b, english language.

I was not paying enough attention...
The hammer bonus for priest specialists is for all cities... Probably, I was suggested by that... and I thought that bonus xp are also for all cities.
Thanks for replies

Daveishere:
1. AFAIK, Boris works the way it should. i remember discussion about him in other forum (other FfH mod?). His strenght is that he is truly immortal. Giving him Hero promotion would be too much
2. I believe, that Mechanos should not get adepts on any way

Well, a mercenary adept could be acceptable, and is definitely not a bug. Not like your going to have tons of those

I have no idea if it's a bug or was intended but you don't need tons of adepts anyway. One or two Enchantment I adepts are usually enough. And Earth adepts are rather useless without ability to upgrade to mages.
On the other hand, if you have mana from unique features/captured holy cities you can have greater variety of spells for your adepts. And Mercenary Adepts start with random spells already... all this makes Mechanos disadvantage (no arcane units) less important. I believe this applies to Dao as well.

Attempting to try Orbis, installer defaults to Mods/Fall Further 042, and the patch defaults to Mods/Orbis.

EDIT: As Sidar, missionary units can trigger Immortality after spreading religion (presumably also after spreading culture or adding hammers (soldiers of Kilmorph)

EDIT2: I founded three religions, and all three shrines were in my capital. RNG, bug, or WAD?

PS - Great mod! Way faster then RifE, and a lot of good new changes. You should really add a concepts section for the Palentine - I had absolutely no idea where to go with them.
