patch 1.20 download problems

Attempting to download the 1.20 patch via my PS3 dies in the middle; the console (and HD TV) are at the far end of the house from the hub, and connectivity is spotty and slow. I can't move the whole thing next to the hub.

Is there any way to download the patch to my PC and write it to a CD that I could load onto the PS3?

Don't think so...

You may want to buy a long ethernet wire to temporarily connect your PS3 to download the patches.

Actually, I bought a more powerful wireless hub. The half of the family that lives at that end of the house is much happier with the family LAN now.
