Tartessian civilization
Cities: Tartessos, (Atlantis? ;-)) Carpia, Celtica, Conii, Gades, Algarve, Alentejo
Leader: King Arganthonios
Commercial, philosophical
Starting techs:
Minning, fishing
AI personality: Tartessian kings were famous for being traders yet very generous. They also didn't took part in many conflicts, so I think that a peaceful or trading like AI a la Ghandi or Kansa Musa would fit him.
Unique building:
Metalcrafting guild
Replaces forge
Added effect: Every traderoute generates +2
Unique unit:
Tartessian trading boat
Replaces: Fishing boat
Same as a regular boat, the tartessian trading boat has one additional movement, making it a versatile exploration unit.
From a game design perspective, the tartessian civilization is bound to be a cultural powerhouse! Their unique building is great for culture building, and it makes their cultural expansion to be heavily tied to traderoutes and therefore sea cities will have an advantage (just as it happened on the real life). The Artemis temple + broncecrafting guild combination is a match made in heaven!
However, that is compensated by a really weak UU: it is not only a naval one, but also a non combatant one! Unless you start the game on a coast, it became basically uselss, although it is nice to being able to quickly send fishing boats from your capital to your remote colonies.
Can someone make this into a proper civ, pretty please? I love the Tartessian civ, they are the closest thing to an Atlantis like civilization
