@Robert:

I took over your XML changes for Score from GlobalDefines.xml to GlobalDefinesAlt.xml.

@Team:

I did a few balancing changes to GlobalDefinesAlt.xml.
(It is basically some of my preferred settings for playing TAC.)

The diff in SVN will tell you exactly what I did.
(It should correspond to what I have read in this forum and in TAC forum.)

Give it a try. :)
If you don't like it, we can restore the old values. :thumbsup:

Some thoughts....

2nd tier Improved roads for increased movement (hard to build)
2nd tier Improved land for increased production (hard to build)
Alternative stronger military units that cost 100% more guns/horses for 50% more strength
PUT THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH BACK IN

2nd tier Improved roads for increased movement (hard to build)

I had implemented railroads, trains and trainstations in another project.

I really liked that feature since it was simply fun to play but I have already read, that the team would not like railroads.
(And I have to admit also, that it doesn't really fit into the time period ...)

2nd tier Improved land for increased production (hard to build)

Already planned. :)

Alternative stronger military units that cost 100% more guns/horses for 50% more strength

Don't worry, we will eventually have a lot of new professions and units. :)

PUT THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH BACK IN

How about adding a "please" to that ? ;)
But "Rumors of Fountain of Youth and Eldorado" is already planned, too. :)

------

We have considered / discussed many many features.
A lot of them have been accepted / are planned.

We will just need time to implement all of these things in good quality. :thumbsup:
Thus we are going step by step ...

Satisfied ? :cooool:

@team:

I had accidently checked in GlobalDefinesAlt.xml from Vanilla,
instead of the one from Religion and Revolution. :blush:

But I have corrected that now.

Spoiler :

I did a small change to LbD.
(Fleeing is less likely.)

The other changes you will by this comment:
<!-- RaR BALANCING OVERRIDES ! -->

Again, it is just a suggestion. :)
(Give it a try ...)

Hi gents,

I have finished my work regarding the new native nations related to the buttons and flags. In this connection I (tentatively) made some smal improvements regarding denmark, the leaderhead buttons, the totem and the native altar (by the way they work).

Furthermore I created a new file for further buttons, leaderheads or other improvements we need ("colonization_atlas_RaR.dds"). Due to this changes I decreased the necessary (graphic) files per nation.

Maybe we can also make further changes regarding the other currently used "atlasses" (e.g. "beyond_the_sword_atlas.dds", "colonization_atlas_tac_buttons.dds" etc.) in the future. The pooling of the graphics could make graphic things easier and more clearly.

@ all team members:

Is this ok for you?

The revised atlas:

The new RaR atlas:

Is this ok for you?

It is not only ok, it is fantastic. :)

By the way:

Did you take a look at the button of the Inuit leader ?
I had used a "dummy" there, because there was no button available.

I did it now :D

Please have a look, I have edited my post above.

Great. :)
Could you commit your changes to SVN, so that we can take a look ingame ?

I will do this in the evening, because I'm not at home this weekend.

Great. :)
I am really eager to see these great improvements in game. :thumbsup:

Here is a crazy idea guys...
Put a Russian leader or two in but make him start from a Pacific Ocean tile

:smoke:

@team:

I have fixed / improved these 2 features according to agaro's feedback. :)
(Please get current version from SVN and start new games to test.)

Cannons in Citadel bombarding Enemies outside City
Musketmen firing from Stockades

1. Now each of them really only fires once per round for every city.

2. A lot more things are taken into consideration.

* Features only active if city defenses have not been bombarded to 0.
* Terrain (Hills, Peaks, Forrest, ...) is considered
* Strength of the attacked unit is considered properly
...

---------------

I have done some basic balancing of course, but this could be improved.

These are the balancing settings in GlobalDefinesAlt.xml for these 2 Features:
Spoiler :

CITADEL_DAMAGE_MULTIPLIER_WATER --> Balancing modifier for Cannons in Citadel firing on Ships
CITADEL_DAMAGE_MULTIPLIER_LAND --> Balancing modifier for Cannons in Citadel firing on Land Units
DEFENSE_DAMAGE_MULTIPLIER --> Balancing modifier for Infantery in Defense Buildings firing on Land Units

@agaro: Maybe you could experiment a little with these and give me feedback. :thumbsup:

This was already discussed. :)

For the upcoming release, we will not add another European Nation, Sorry.
(It is not even clarified if we will add another European one at all.)

@Gomer:

I will see, what I can do to improve "Native Raids" according to your feedback,
but the feature is pretty complicated and I might need some time. :thumbsup:

Oh Schmiddie! This is really great...:goodjob:
Could I ask you a favor? Could you have a look at the native buildings too (Totem pole and Sacrificial Altar) ?
For now I used the warehouse image file (Of course we won't see it since natives aren't playable, but It would be nice...).

Could you also improve my Jacques Cartier dds file (its on the SVN: SVN/transfer/Founding_Fathers/ Jacques Cartier) ?

:) native raids...

now thats something I havnt seen for a LONG time
Remeber in col 1995 they would steal your guns/horses... lol that used to make me furious >:O

:) native raids...

Just wait for our release. :)
You won't believe your eyes how many great features we have created ...
(... adding to the existing features of TAC.)

Here is our Overview.

Thanks! Yes, I will have a look at the files.

I don't know how the graphic files for native nations are programmed, but I think the TAC team made some changes regarding the look of native camps - therefoe maybe it would also be possible bringing the totem and the altar into the game (visible).

Maybe one of the programmer can have a look after this?

They are visible on Map. :)
Robert is only talking about the CityScreen-Graphic (2D).

It is not only ok, it is fantastic. :)

I concur. Great job Schmiddie with the buttons and flags, they look amazing. :goodjob:

I also have a small favor to ask. As long as the team has no objections, could we change the English flag from that of St. George, to the Union flag, (also known as the kings colors, or union jack). That flag dates from 1606-1801 so it covers the majority of the timeframe of the game.

1606 Union Flag.png

I believe their is one already available in the downloads section of the forum.

Thanks.:D
