Hello world! In this story, I will be attempting to guide China from 3000 BC all the way to 2000 AD, and creating 5,000 years of history along the way. I will be going for the UHV, but obviously I won't stop after I complete them. I would also like to mention that I am using the oldest version of RFC because I am playing this on a mac, and sadly the updates are not made for the mac. Now without further adu, our story begins.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spoiler :

In the year 3000, the city of Beijing, China's glorious capital, was founded. This marked the begining of China's rise to power. Anyone who has played RFC before knows the drill. For those who haven't:

The Chinese start out in a truly gorgeous land. There is food everywhere. Wheat, rice, fish, and game are found in almost shockingly abundant quantities. The capital is blessed with three food bonuses, many hills and several other resources. There are calendar luxuries everywhere. To the far north, we find gold and gems. If that wasn’t enough, we have horses to defend ourselves from the barbs (and we will need them, because they will come from the north and the west in great hordes) and will have iron when we learn the tech. Marble is also within reach – and copper too, to build those Big Temples.

In the midst of such abundance, how could we possibly lose? It would be embarrassing. ;)

After a short period of anarchy, a local tribal village was kind enough to give us a worker, which was sent to farm the many wheat fields in the outskirts of Beijing.
Spoiler :

But the streets of Beijing soon became overcrowded, and a new Chinese city was settled on the banks of the Yellow Sea, Qingdoa.

Spoiler :

Confucianism was also founded in this city, and the religion soon spread across the empire. Soon the religion spread to Beijing, and the second Chinese revolution occured.

Spoiler :

Why is Beijing building a library? China needs to REX to reach it's full potential, and have A LOT of workers as well.

That is a good point you make, but I wanted Beijing to grow a little more before I started pumping out an endless horde of settlers, workers, and missionaries. ;)

Will be lurking this one with interest!

Thank you! :D But no need to lurk, comment all you want. To quote myself from my last story, "I NEED TO BE LOVED! "

With the discovery of calendar, a new world religion know as Taoism was founded in Qingdao.

Spoiler :

This new religion quickly spread to Beijing, effectively dividing the empire between those who believed in Taoism and those who believed in Confucianism. :king:

Spoiler :

But China's people thirsted for more land to claim as their own, and in short time the land of Korea was subjected to Chinese culture.

A scouting warrior soon reaches the foriegn lands of Babylon.
Spoiler :

His Jewish religion forbid signing an open borders agreement with me, forcing our scouting party to head west thru the harsh lands of what is now Russia and not thru the middle east.

Spoiler :

But these times were not as merry as they seemed. The government was in complete chaos. Whenever a leader died, fighting broke out thru the land. Often generals or war heroes would try to claim their place as rulers of China. A newly divised system of government, known as a Monarchy, attempted to solve this problem. Rule would be passed from heir to heir, so no arguments over who should rule would occur. This brought unity to China in a time when China needed unity. This brought about the third Chinese revolution.

Spoiler :

We made contact with the Indians in the year 875 BC, and sign open borders.

Spoiler :

That makes four cities, we need atleast eight to complete our UHV. Temples start springing up like weeds.

PLEASE let me know what you think about my story so far. Dislike the idea? Way of writing it? The font size? Any sort of feedback is greatly appreciated. Seriously, it keeps me motivated. ;)

The writing is fine, pretty good even.:)

The images of the last post were positioned weird, above the text regarding it, instead of below, but maybe that's just me. Doesn't matter really.:)

While I do see the point/benefit of putting pictures in spoiler tags, it sort of feels like it disrupts the natural flow of the story. I would rather take +1 sec of loading time then much more time hitting open.

Although, this is just a general complaint directed at all stories like this, so its not toward your story specifically.

Yeah. This will be a good story, I think, and I will be watching it. But as the above, stated, you could publish your pictures like thumbnails, or why not just publish the most important, historically important and beautiful ones right on the page while having the other ones within the Spoiler Boxes.

This story will be very interesting when the wars and battles start going. Nice.

Are you planning to run a bunch of priest specialists to get the two shrines? Or do you have a different agenda? Because I usually try to run engineers and get the Colosseum for the military points.

Good luck with this. I tried to do 3,000 years with Rome, and that was quite the challenge (mostly because I deliberately sabotaged myself several times). I hope you can get the UHVs, I've never been able to complete China's without worldbuilder.

I will be following this one. Heres hoping that he gets it finished unlike the last one

Shrines? I have to build two Toaist Pagodas and two Confucian Academies. Mabye it's just because I have an older version.

Thank you, and I did quite enjoy your story.

I wasn't able to get an update yesterday, but I'm free today, so I'll get one up soon.

Let's hope so  That last story is going to live in infamy, isn't it. :)

I think it's a good call on the library in Beijing. Soon you'll have excess population and running scientists is really necessary to be first to Mathematics and Calendar. (Though it seems you've managed that already.)

Let's hope so  That last story is going to live in infamy, isn't it. :)

Yes it is, you almost had every wonder and project built, you were on the verge of victory promising to get two victories at once, and then you stopped updating it. But thats not what is infamous about it, what is infamous about it is the fact that you came back over and over again saying "Don't worry I'll post the next update tomorow or over the weekend." But we waited and still no update. That is why your story will live on in Infamy.
PS I am not angry i'm just saying this stating why I think that it will live in infamy I do think that that game was an impresive show building all those wonders ;)

If you like the Mongols and a good story click the link in my signature to read The Wrath of the Mongols I do enjoy comments, if you like the story please tell me, like Bobbtjoe it keeps me motivated.

Alright, enought waiting. Time for the next update!

Our great expedition westward granted us knowledge of several distant civilizations, mainly the Greeks and the Romans. Our venture to Rome was by far the most fruitful, as they offered to trade alphabet, allowing us to trade with other civilizations, which in turn ensured China's technological atvantage. :king:

The Chinese also made contact with the Japanese people, though they were stuburn, at best.

Oh yes.

Hey, if it's worth doing it's worth overdoing. :p

In 530 BC, the conversion of the Japenese people to the ways of Taoism begun, and angered many of the Chinese. They thought it was a sign of mistrust, and many called for war. This did not help the Chinese-Japenese relasonship, and left China as the lone follower of Confucianism.

In 470 BC, the city of Hangzhou, a city that hugged the waters of the East China Sea, was founded. We need 3 more to build the temples.

Very nice, not much but enough to keep us hungry for more.

PS Have you read my story?
