Road to War problemo

Hey you guys, new here. I used to play Road to War a lot, but then went off and played a bunch of other mods. Having come back to it, I've noticed something distressing. When I attack a city or stack, my attacking unit/s take collateral damage from every single opfor unit. This didn't used to happen?! Is this because of the patch? Can I uninstall something, or even just redownload the original scenario? Help me I'm jonesing for some operation barbarossa!
