1. take the game out of military scope
almost all technologies, resources are for military purposes. there are a few techs that do not lead militaristic improvements-units, and we use even ivory for militaristic purposes (Zeus) make the game more focused on science - religion - commerce - agriculture
this would make game more realistic..

2. new government system
a) in conquests, after fascism and communism are known, the world goes on a huge war! and that war does not end because all civs are either fascist or communist - no war weariness..
war weariness and governments should be reconsidered. some types could be "revolted". e.g. after communism, partizans could overthrow the government - if current government is not sufficient. and, fighting against "bad" governments, war weariness should be reduced..
b) some sub-govt-types could appear due to your gameplay. e.g. dictatorships: Hitler was a dictator. but, even he gained controll by elections (the base of democracy).. if you oppress your citizens under democracy, attack other countries, kill minorities (this should be added), you become a dictator and other powerful countries have "right" to attack you..

3. 72 nations :)
(this is famous in mid-eastern countries)
in addition to current civs (do not exclude anyone) add minorities. some could join to your cause, fight with you and settle in your cities.. some others resist you, you fight them and destroy them.. some others do not deal with world's problems and settle wherever they are.. not harmful to new-comers and live their religion-culture in those countries..

these are my ideas.. just want a more realistic game.
