We were driving home from the movies tonight when we noticed half the bush ablaze. We ran home and took these shots
This shot is taken from Elanore Heights Plateau (On Sydney's Norther Beaches), looking south west across Narrabeen Lagoon to the fire on top of the bushland at Cromer.
The area has a few houses. You can see one in the second photo on the right, and then another one in the third photo on the left.
The fires came incredibly close to both houses (one of them is where Doug Mulray lives), but I dont think they caught alight.
There have been no fires in that area since the big fires back in '92(?). I was up there last week, it's as dry as a bone and it went up incredibly fast.
